Default Why oh why???

So today I had the opportunity to try, for the first time, a 991.1 GTS.

Why did I do that? Now I can't stop digging for reasons to trade my Carrera and get the GTS.

I'm so stupid. Old and dumb. Never learn the lesson.

Seems to me that the older you are getting, the smarter you are getting. GTS is a fantastic car. Really no reason not to upgrade!

I'm so joyous with my 13 C4 I'm afraid I'd stroke out my 73 year old brain driving a GTS!

Don't do it. The difference is striking.

Even worse: How will you feel if you buy the GTS only to later discover it is a Carrera?

My brain is 73 years old too. I made the mistake of reading about the 991.2 C2S Endurance Racing Edition with its incredible option list, and i got the bug. After due diligence, and searching nationally for the best deal, i traded my gorgeous 2015 CPO C2S for this new one. But my 73 year old brain is lovin it!
Then i again went soft in my 73 year old brain. I read about the X51 Power Kit and checked out GTS Performance including the Nordschleife videos, and now I'm having the X51 Power Kit installed next week. My sick 73 year old brain is going crazy with excitement! It thinks I'm going to be in heaven, driving one of the 73 Endurance Racing Editions imported into the USA, and probably one of just a handful with the X51 Power Kit. Can you believe it? I'll just have to humor my 73 year old brain again, after the X51Power Kit installation... 😃

I was going to say, don't drive a .2 S. My friend is 72 and he just got a 2017 Cab S...he is a torque freak, he does miss the sound of the Sharkwerks bypass on his .1 but I guess his love of torque out weighs it.

Yeah, you’re screwed. I Predict you’ll have the GTS by the end of the weekend.

Your only option is to go drive a better car so you want that one more... otherwise just buy the GTS Yeah, you're pretty much dunzo.

Sorry to hear we suffer a similar affliction.

Yeah, I fortunately learned a while ago that I shouldn't drive any car I don't intend to buy as it might deflate my opinion of the car I was currently driving or was thinking of buying. Even after being given the opportunity, I've turned down the dealer's offers to drive a GT3 or Turbo/Turbo S.

But to be honest, I broke the rule when the dealer offered free test drives of the 991.2 on the track at the Circuit of Americas. I fought off the urge to upgrade for a while, but it was still calling to me and I eventually succumbed to the temptation.

Ummm.... enjoy your new car! (soon anyway)

Well I'll be 75 in Nov. and currently own an SL MB. I've been trying to wean myself off this site but keep getting pulled in. I blew my car buying budget when I got the Sl, now 2 years later it's worth half what it MSRP'd for. It'll cost my another $100k to get what I want, I'm trying to figure out how to do that. Should have stepped up and got the 911 in the beginning. But then I wouldn't have that great 3L TT engine. Oh well.

I too learned this lesson some time ago. I recently had the opportunity to drive a GT3T while shopping for a GTS. Fortunately, for me, I didn't fall into that temptation! However, I am enjoying the 991.2 GTS.
