Did a few other updates/upgrades at the same time, including uprated engine and transmission mounts. that require me to feather the throttle a bit differently.

That saying my FC did improve marginally.

Correct, my wife's Gen 2 Ford Raptor has port and direct injection. Toyota / Lexus has their D4S system which is the same.

I use the Techron Fuel System Cleaner 400 miles before EVERY oil change.
What is reasoning/thinking for using the Techron 400 miles before the oil change?

There was a very good thread about this in the 997.2 Forum a few months back. I'll try to find it. Charles Navarro (L&N Engineering) also contributed.

I also use the Techron Fuel System Cleaner about 400 miles (one full tank of treated fuel) before every oil change as an added precaution.

Beautiful cross-sectional drawing; thank you for posting it!

You want to consume a tank of treated fuel (figure 400 miles), then refill with fresh untreated fuel, and get your oil change. You want to do the treatment prior to the oil change, as a best practice- given the choice.

Just to elaborate on LexVan's response: the concern is that the Techron MAY migrate into the oil sump and POSSIBLY compromise the integrity of the lubricant.

Whether or not this will actually occur is debatable, but why take the chance of it contaminating a fresh oil change?

Default does BG work

On my previous audis my local shop sold these in a 3 can set. They would put in and the car would produce monumental !mounts of smoke and then run perfectly.
