Wondering what engine speed everyone cruises at for normal duty. For everyday driving I don't let tach fall below 2000, ever. If the drive is more spirited it's 3K.

I previously owned 2 x 997Ss (a .1 and .2) and I find with the 991.2 I can keep the engine running at more relaxed pace yet get decent results when necessary.

Are you talking cruising or coasting? For me, cruising is on the open highway, 65 to 85 mph. And for that I will often shift into 7th, unless on an uphill stretch or with some traffic.

...just traded my 991.1 C2S for a 991.2 C2S, and I agree for both cars. With both I like to keep the revs up. No lugging the engine, for me. I usually don't upshift unless the next gear is at least 2500 rpm. And i typically upshift by 4000 rpm unless I'm accelerating, or unless I see a need to soon accelerate. Both engines need to be spinning to get decent torque, but the 991.1 S engine won't have decent torque much below 3500 rpm.

Surprising power in 7th gear in the .2. Low 60s is not a problem with good acceleration that keeps up with traffic. It seems to be pretty flexible, with the turbos adding power in lieu of a downshift, if you choose to drive that way.
