Multifunction display question

I have the multifunction display on my car set to show the boost bar on the top line. I notice that it switches back and forth between the speed limit of the road I am on and the boost info. Is that normal?

you can turn off the speed limit readout if you wish

Yup.

I have mine set to show the remaining fuel range, but it switches to the speed limit if that information is available.
