I did not.

I thought this is what PPF was for. I'd rather have some dried bug guts on my bumper's PPF than rock chips in the paint.

From the Xpel site they give these guidelines for cleaning:
  • Remove insect or other stains as soon as possible with XPEL Film Cleaner.
  • Stubborn stains can be removed with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Take care to keep these chemicals off the vehicle’s paint.
  • Detailing Clay can be used to remove contaminants that are on the film.

I wash the bugs off the same day and have not had any problems with it yet. I recently Put Carpro Gliss on my Suntek and it works really well to protect and adds to the Hyperbolic properties.

I've had Suntek PPF for 3 years & I used Sealant on top of it. I do clay my car b4 putting on a new layer of sealant. No ceramic coating.

Bugs clean off easily. PPF still looks new. If bug splatter is bad, I use bug cleaner which says to let soak for 30 seconds b4 wiping away with MF towel.
I aways f/u with quick detailer in that spot.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover
Gold Class Car Wash soap
Meguiar’s Smooth Surface Clay Kit
Meguiar’s G18216 Ultimate Liquid Wax
Meguiar’s Quick Detailer

Bought all @ Walmart.

I have Suntek and I Coat it with Gyeon Can Coat. The bugs come off the bumper during the wetting process before washing. It is more difficult to remove them if you don't Coat or seal the PPF. Bugs can etch the PPF if left on too long.

I have the front done in Xpel: hood, fenders, mirrors. I don't know if it's etched, stained, or whatever, but it shows bug spots. And I'm not in any way being facetious here: my solution was to stop caring so much. I don't care. Film is sacrificial. When it looks bad enough, I'll have it removed and a new one applied.

You might try putting something like Gliss over the PPF, it enhances the appearance and dramatically changes the hyperbolic properties of the PPF. I have had mine on for several months, washes easy and looks great. My pics don't do it justice.
