Default 991.2 Rear Grill Slats sheen?

Hello all. I am in the process of ordering a Targa 4S and since I am getting the wheels, targa bar, etc. in satin black I was thinking about changing the rear deck emblems to satin black after the car arrives; the emblems can only be ordered in gloss black. However, after looking at some pictures online of the rear grill it appears the vertical slats are gloss black - is that correct? There are no dealers close to me in order to verify in person. Thanks in advance...Bob Z.

Thanks much. I guess that explains why Porsche only allows the emblems to be ordered in gloss.

My wife's car has gloss black slats and they always have very visible water spots on them - no matter how many times I try to dry them. Next time they'll be satin.

You would have to do a custom paint option then since the only option now is to have them painted the exterior color of the car.

Understood. Her car is still new so it, hopefully, will not be replaced anytime soon. I'm just saying that I'll do my best to NOT have any gloss black grills in the future. Love the look, don't love cleaning it though.

Same goes for black cars, at one point we had five of them, including a giant SUV. They looked fantastic - for about five minutes. We are down to two of them and find that we now have time to pay attention to the children, vacation, and meet up with friends.

I have used Eric for painted parts several times over the years - top notch work and highly recommended. He will be doing some Miami Blue work for me in the near future; however, I tend to like the Black slats.

I was thinking about getting matte/satin black but the slats are gloss so I want the rear end sheens to be the same.

Mine are matte black. That rear grill is a bear to clean and dry, I think the best approach is to use compressed air.

The 991.2 GTS coupe has matte/satin black slats and rear model designation. The horizontal strip just above the vertical slats is a gloss black.
