No USA MY19 991.2 Non-S C4 Cab builds until spring 2019?
Sorry, wrong forum!
Has anyone else heard anything similar/different?
Or, does anyone else actually have an allocation for a C4 Cab?
Thanks!

A C4 is rare to begin with. A C4 CAB is even rarer. More profit is in it for Porsche to sell a C4S so there is less incentive to sell the C4. It's $14k more but the incremental production cost is much less for the 991.2 since it's the same engine with a simple tune (and bigger turbos/brakes). So I'm not surprised about what your SA is telling you.

Back in April, I as well sought to order a C4 and my SA, as well as some from other local Northwest dealers, indicated that that would be next to impossible to obtain. Ended up going with a C2S scheduled for build in October and even getting that was iffy for awhile. Seems that right now most allocations going to Ts and GTs.

Even though I knew a C4 was rare (and a C4 Cab more rare), I was hoping to find out if anyone had heard the same specific about "spring 2019".
paxton- from what I've heard, the different types of 911 are built on different schedules, e.g., the C4 will still be only 991.2 for at least MY19.
Thanks for the info!

TL;DR:
I'll put the bottom line up front, and show my due diligence below.
Here's what I'm trying to find out:
Spent a lot of the weekend:
I really (really!) don't want to be that naive newbie that didn't read the rules or do the research. So please (please!) tell me what obvious thing(s) I missed.
Thanks...
I'll put the bottom line up front, and show my due diligence below.
Here's what I'm trying to find out:
- Are there really no allocations yet for MY19 Cab 4S 991.2 MT? (Model Year 2019 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet 991.2 Manual Transmission)
- Has anyone else actually heard a dealer say no builds for MY19 Cab 4 991.2 MT until spring 2019? (Model Year 2019 911 Carrera 4 non-S Cabriolet 991.2 Manual Transmission)
- Do dealers really not know when allocations or builds start for model years?
- Is my dealer screwing with me because now that things maybe changed for them, they're stringing me along so they won't have to give me the great deal they negotiated?
- Am I just naive?
- I went into looking at Porsche knowing that the time between "ordering" and "delivery" would be 4 to 6 months
- In early March 2018, I negotiated with my Brand Ambassador and got what is apparently a great deal
- On 2018-03-12 my dealer sent me a completed Retail Order signed by them
- The Retail order indicated "Enter order for one: 2019 Carrera 4S Cab" and "First available allocation on either 4S Cab or 911 4 Cab" (since I prefer the non-S for reasons)
- They did not indicate any expected date on the Retail Order
- Verbally they told me maybe June or July for first build (for C4 Cab or C4S Cab), "but Porsche typically takes off a month in the summer -- don't know when though"
- I checked in a few times since then and there was always only a "Demand Request" in the PVMS (Porsche Sales & Vehicle Management System) because they still have gotten no allocations yet
- The dealer "talked to Jacob at PCNA corporate" to find out more info
- The dealer said "Jacob contacted Germany" to find out more info, but only found out no non-S C4 Cab builds until spring 2019
Spent a lot of the weekend:
- Googling and searching here trying to figure out if I posted in the correct forum -- "Technical Discussion" doesn't seem to match my original question, but I see other Topics that are similar to mine
- But to be diligent, I Googled and searched here trying to figure out why I can't post in General Porsche Discussions Forum -- do I need to be a paid member? Trying to post there I get
"Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page"
which isn't useful info to newbies (which are the only people that would get this message?) as neither the FAQs, the Membership page, nor any sticky posts in General Porsche Discussions Forum indicate forums specific to "Paid Members Only" other than classifieds? - Trying to figure out the "rennlist" terminology to help determine what keywords I should actually be using to do searches for "MY19 C4 Cab Allocation" (or C4S)
I really (really!) don't want to be that naive newbie that didn't read the rules or do the research. So please (please!) tell me what obvious thing(s) I missed.
Thanks...

You are after the model 2019 cars, so the estimated build dates you've been told by your dealer are, IMO, pretty much the standard for every new model years. What's at play here, too, is the introduction of the brand new 992 version.
Check this out - https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-sh...s-and-details/ - and you'll see what you might expect, timewise; but, here is the schedule from this article:

That time line needs to be pushed back about 6 months across the board given the stop-sale of all models in the EU until Feb. 2019 (production restart), with deliveries first deliveries in March 2019. So there's no way, Porsche is going to be delivering 992 of any kind to the ROW while the EU waits around twiddling their thumbs worrying about C02 emissions.

" Porsche notes that all-new models like the upcoming 992-generation 911 were engineered with the new particulate filters from the start, and that they will launch on schedule. "

We just know what "launch on schedule" means. Because Porsche has never officially stated it.

Thanks for the additional info.
Turns out I had bookmarked The new 2019 Porsche 911 family proliferates: meet the 992 Turbo Cabriolet, 2018-05-16! And Nick Murray's
video was also useful.

Congrats!
Not to hijack, but how much longer can someone order a 911.2? Does production run through 2019?

just. mike and I have the same date, 9/06/2018, for the determined delivery date, his is 11/09, mine is for 12/28. Both of our vehicles will be finished before the end of the year.
This is all a guess, but seeing the low dealer inventory and the shortage of allocations for certain models, the 991.2 availability can't get better the closer it gets to the end of the year.
The above video indicates that the release dates for the first 992's is 11/18, however, it goes on to say that the new models won't reach dealers until several months later. What they will sell from now till then? Visit your dealer and ask, can't hurt.
PS: I was told that the Delivery Experience (which I took) adds time to the build, this would explain the later delivery.
