Default 991 Targa Long Term Value

I'm leaning towards a manual Targa 991. Would you say they hold their value more than other models (other than gt series) long term?

I'm concerned about all the extra weight.... It's like 400 pounds more than a base carrera?!?!?

I cant speak for earlier 911s, but for 997s the targa probably commands a 10% premium over a similarly equipped non-targa. MTs also hold a similar premium over PDK.

I assume the 991 will be similar for the next 5-10 years, but after that I'm not sure because as Targas age, they may be worth less as there are more moving parts prone to failure. I'd like to hear others thoughts.

As far as the MT, I think over time MT cars will hold their value better than PDK cars as they will be more rare and desirable.

I would say that the difference in value holding is less than the value of getting whichever model you like best and enjoying it.

^^^ This. Also, Targa owners clearly have the best taste.
