Default 991.1 whining noise at speed

Hi All,

New here. Just got my 991.1 for two weeks. Dark blue targa.

I just noticed something new. When driving at speeds from 180 km/h and up there is whining noise that gets louder and louder. You can hear it at 150km/h as well. It's not that the tone is changing. It's not connected to rev's of the engine. Seems to come from the front mid dashboard area. Got the airco turned of.

Any ideas? Seems to be wind leakage I hope and not a div or wheel bearing I guess?

Many thanks! And have a great weekend.

Are your windows all the way up? Sunroof fully closed? That is indeed an odd sound.

I had a whining noise in my car, too, but as soon as I dropped off my mother in law it went away.

I just want to know where you can drive at 112 mph (or 180 kmh) without going to jail.

Default Whining noise whilst driving

Check your mirrors. You’re being followed by a 991.2.

In before the lock !

Hurricane - Only on certain autobahns, of course...not the entire country..
Thank you Hurricane. The European language on the OPs MFD may have given Ipse a clue as well.

Try sticking duct tape over the suspected areas and see if the noise goes away.

991.2s whistle, they dont whine.
