Am I too paranoid with the heat in the engine bay
I just upgraded from a 996 (skip a 997) to a 991 (2013). Totally enjoyed the new toy and still learning things here and there.
may be this is a dumb question, but the extra heat in the engine bay might cause all the plastic parts to degrade over the years?
Am I too over-concerned putting these fans to suck out the hot air?

Now that power cable draped over your paint... that's a different story

There is no "extra" heat. There is the heat an engine that produces 400 horsepower produces. And yes, the heat cycling will cause plastic parts to degrade over the years. But the rest of your car degrades over the years as well. If it makes you sleep better at night, you can buy plastic engine parts for cheap and replace them however often makes you feel better. Maybe every few months?

Those plastic has melting point of 500 C with average lifespan of 500 years. They will not degrade with engine heat. The surface may be affected or discolored due to other factors such as UV, but definitely not by heat.
I used blower fans as well to cool off the engine compartment after parking it my garage (not as extreme as you though). But it's not for the plastics, it's for the garage and ventilation.

I use this a few times a year during the dog-days of summer when it's the hottest. Mainly to cool down the garage, more than to cool down the car. I park right in front center of it, and blow the air across the bottom of the car and motor, and out the back of the opened garage door. Bought it at Grainger many years ago. For some here, it's matching PTS for their Racing Yellow cars:
