When I'm driving on a nice sunny day with the top open and no passenger, I still turn on the ventilated seat to keep the leather cool.

A set of fans is not going to cool down an engine too quickly where it causes an issue. It’s no different than driving or the factory fans. There is a lot of thermal mass in the engine and cooling system. For overheating cars, the standard mitigation is to leave the car running, open the hood, and dump water on top of the radiator (on the outside obviously don’t open it) so the coolant can cool down. Anyway, no harm to external fans, but no real benefit.

+1
Yeah like what happens when it is -10 zero and you shut the car off, if that doesn't hurt it i'm sure these fans won't either.

Default Center Radiator - Sport + - lower temps

RDCR, I thought of doing this for longevity purposes because I live in Florida. I do not track the car but do sometimes take long spirited drives (over 500 miles). I also like the fact that if I add the center radiator I can replace the ugly plastic piece.

I read on here that running the car in sport plus keeps the engine cooler but I am not sure if that is true.

Has anyone else added the center radiator just to keep things cooler and can you confirm that sport plus causes the temperatures to stay lower ? My thinking is even not on the track lower engine temperatures = longer life for everything.

In Sport Plus, the OIL runs cooler, about 30 degrees, depending on driving style and air temps. We don't see what the coolant temp is doing, since that maxes out at 194. Decreases MPG's by about 2-4.

It also runs cooler in Sport.

I had a 993TT for about 8 years. Drove it for about 20,000 miles. The engine bay in this air cooled car got so hot after a drive you couldn’t touch the car without a severe burn.

I was amazed at the extreme heat generated and couldn’t believe all engine plastic didn’t melt.

I was astonished at how cool the engine bay was after a drive in my 991 C4S. Night and day difference.
When I saw this thread it made me laugh.
