Pretty crazy to think that at BMW’s pinnacle, they put out an N/A V10 M5 and M3 with an N/A V8 that felt, revved and sounded like no other V8 in the world (I’m still partial to the E46 as that in-line 6 is pure BMW soul, but for some reason that particular I6 never sounded right to me). Engines were truly an art to them back then. Low torque, pure linear pull as revs climb, revealing the bare soul of the car in unison with its unadulterated scream. Now, pure homogenization, ran through so many sterilized data points to fulfill their performance quests that they may as well be high performance rolling toasters.
It’s a shame that the E60 is so unsightly. Getting an atmospheric V10 in a sedan is as exotic as it gets. I really considered one as a second car, but couldn’t get myself to do it. Though, the engine alone is worth the price of admission.

Bee still wins any and all measuring contests.Yeah, thanks. The wife yelled and yelled for all of 5 minutes, as I was trying to explain to her that she needs to think about the ticket as a form of a compliment from the state trooper for driving the car the way it's meant to be driven! Her answer: "you're spinning!" But of course I ///M. Speeding tickets have such a negative connotation anyway!

Nice. Tell us about your search for it and how you came upon it. Had you been looking for one specifically or just popped up unexpected?
