Very nice! That’s always been my favorite M3 and I love the color.

Pretty crazy to think that at BMW’s pinnacle, they put out an N/A V10 M5 and M3 with an N/A V8 that felt, revved and sounded like no other V8 in the world (I’m still partial to the E46 as that in-line 6 is pure BMW soul, but for some reason that particular I6 never sounded right to me). Engines were truly an art to them back then. Low torque, pure linear pull as revs climb, revealing the bare soul of the car in unison with its unadulterated scream. Now, pure homogenization, ran through so many sterilized data points to fulfill their performance quests that they may as well be high performance rolling toasters.

It’s a shame that the E60 is so unsightly. Getting an atmospheric V10 in a sedan is as exotic as it gets. I really considered one as a second car, but couldn’t get myself to do it. Though, the engine alone is worth the price of admission.

More pics tomorrow...and thanks to Stout and others for the kind wishes.

Nice. Tell us about your search for it and how you came upon it. Had you been looking for one specifically or just popped up unexpected?

I ride a BMW motorcycle and the guys in those forums tend to refer to speeding tickets as a “Performance Award.” I find it makes it a little easier...
