Default 6 series cup holder mod

ive seen a few people talk about installing the 6 series cup holder in their 991.

I know the current cup holders are not adequate. is the 6 series cup holder a viable solution?

is this the right part?

I use my cupholder nearly every day for preworkout or protein shake. Works perfectly fine for me.

I was thinking, what IF you could remove the bottom part of the in-dash cup-holder, and basically let the cup drop as deep as you like, controlled with the width of the head of the cupholder? Wouldn't that be enough to keep the cups firmly in place, without being top heavy? One option would be to replace the fix length of the bottom part with some telescopic replacement, so it could go lower, or just cut the bottom part altogether. I may be willing to experiment with mine using a Dremel tool this weekend...

I got one of those, but unfortunately they don't work well with the 4-way seats. The handle to move the seats front/back is right where you are supposed to put this cupholder. Perhaps they work well with the other seat types.

Would you mind sharing a picture in how you have it installed?
