Default Purchase advice for leftover 2017 c2s

Hello, first post here. Looking to get into a 911 and found this C2S at my local dealer with options I like such as PDCC, 7 M/T, Sport Chrono and Sports Exhaust. Took it for a test drive and it was great! I much preferred it to a C2 base/ PDK car I drove before. However the car happens to be a left over 2017 Model, but never titled. It had 700 miles on the clock and was told that Porsche Corporate used it as a show car before.

Anyways I am looking for advice on how much I should offer for the car? MSRP is 128k. Has anyone bought a corporate show vehicle before? Anything I should watch out for? The dealer told me that it was not one of the track school cars as those would have a couple thousand miles on it, which does make sense. Do you think these vehicles would be abused? Interior doesnt show like a brand new car, but it is not in poor condition. Exterior is perfect.

Dealer did say that they would throw in the CPO warranty (6 years) and were motivated to move the car. Would you go for this car? and how much do you guys think I should offer?
Thank you so much!

You might want to provide some more details on the vehicle in question; Spec sheet or link to sales ad/pictures or something, so folks can make appropriate comments on the potential purchase.

Offer $112,000 which includes cpo, and see how they respond. Gotta start somewhere.

My local dealer has a 2018 that has 900 miles on it. Originally $135k selling for $122k. CPO. And that's a 2018.

Here is the ad for proof, since your dealerwill surely call you a liar if you tell them that. https://north-houston.porschedealer....tallic+1819795

I'd definitely be starting close to $110k CPO from your dealer.

15% off MSRP and do not go any less than 13%. Negotiate to the decimal.

Insist you really want the car and you will sign the dotted line at that discount percentage. Watch out for other ways they might sneak in some charges.

I have shopped all over the country. Some dealers will play ball and are willing to listen and some will just shut the door in your face. You'll be able to tell fairly quickly.

As others have advised, asking for 15% off is not unreasonable. The only thing that concerns me from your description is the interior. I don't see why it should look used with 700 miles which probably means lots of drivers. Personally, I don't like that. Make sure the clutch has not been abused.

My understanding is that they are very limited with respect to when they can CPO a car that has not been sold before. I believe it has to have been a demonstrator for a given period of time to be eligible. Exact options can make quite a difference such as full leather, etc. My car had been punched sold a few months before I bought and I got a discount of approximately 20% but they could not do a CPO.

Most dealers are starting to punch the 2017s already. That takes it down 10% immediately. If you are losing more than a few months off original warrantee then ask for CPO. They will want to charge for that. The bottom line is there are a lot of 2017s out there that really MUST go. If you shop around you can get 15 to 20% off. It's almost why buying used and certainly not an interior that isn't just right. I think manual shift is a little harder to find but probably harder for them to sell. Most guys that want a manual probably order them that way (just my guess). You can do like I did and get one of the Endurance Racing Editions and take the stickers off yourself. I got an out of this world discount because this Edition isn't selling. Amazing build and beautiful interior.

Let us know how it goes. No matter what you should be able to find a great deal on a really nice car. Just make sure you get the warrantee you want. I lost 3 months on mine but I also go a free wrap which is pretty kewl.

If you post the build sheet or the VIN that might give some insight on what the car was used for. An auto show vehicle will show that on the build sheet as will a press car. A Porsche NA corporate car though wont show anything specific on the build sheet or a demo car. If you call Porsche though and give them the VIN they can let you know if it was a demo.

I bought mine new in December with 20 miles on it. Punched in late November. Got ~17% off.

Thanks guys for all the responses! I have requested the build sheet or some documentation showing the previous use of the car, as my main concern is how the car has been treated prior to being listed for sale. Will keep you guys posted once I get more info and see if they are willing to play ball on the price (first offer was 3k off lol). For the clutch, I guess I can ask for a reading before I buy? When a car is "punched", does that mean the dealer has made it a preowned car instead of a new car? I honestly dont mind getting the CPO that much, as I dont think I will keep the car past the 4 year original warranty period.

I will also look around some more, but seems like this combo is pretty hard to find with manual/PDCC/rear wheel steer/ sports pack/ leather interior (dash). Love the way handles with the PDCC, turns in awesome! (or is that because of RWS?)

To be honest, this car was highly likely driven hard and was the demo/mule which is why you see some odd interior wear.

I had my eyes on a vehicle like this w/bordeaux interior that had some odd mark/ stitching tear. It was also CPO. None of this really deterred me. These cars are tough and reliable IMO.. Plus the CPO is great.

Difficult to compare a used 2018 CPO to a never titled, new 2017 as the margins, incentives and holdback and pricing structure is completely different.

That car sounds very close to my build (PDCC, SPASM, Sport Package, yada, yada, yada). I bought mine in Jan 2017. At that time it had 1,700 miles and was CPO'd with 5.5 years remaining. The MSRP was $128k. I paid $108. The 7M with these 3.0 motors are a great combination and truly makes these cars a hoot to drive.

Apparently now the dealer says no CPO. He sent me the build sheet, did not specifically show it is a Show Car or something. He said in service date is November 2016... this means the warranty has been punched? so thats nearly 1.5 years of warranty gone.

Was yours a "new" car? (never titled). I agree, loved the auto rev matching downshift!! (ok I'm a poser )
