Default 991.2 Oil Drain Plug part number

Fellow 991.2 owners, I bought a DIY oil change kit, I though it included the filter, rubber seal and plug, but it is missing the plug. Should have gotten the kit from Suncoast that does have the plug included in their kit.

So so I have been trying to find the oil drain plug for my 2018 991.2 GTS and I can’t find that part number.
Found a few diff parts but the description is confusing.

Does anyone have the part number needed? Was hoping to get this order online.

Thanks,

It's easy to find on Amazon. The same drain plug is used on the VW Corporate four-cylinder engine.

Found a few, but they all say not for turbo cars.
now with the 991.2 being TT, I didn’t want to buy and try to fit the wrong part in.

Amazon Amazon

is this the right one?

I'm about to do the first change on my 991.2 and have already purchased everything but the oil. All I bought was the VW drain plug tool, which I know isn't totally necessary because a screwdriver will work to remove the plug. But I was under the impression that these composite plugs are reusable. Is that not the case?

I have read mixed write ups on it.
The world is that the rubber seal may be the source for the need to replace.
You most likely be able to get away without replacing it, many on here have done so.
But I was thinking that for +-$5, id just replace it.

Suncoast sells the kit with it. The kit I ordered didn’t have one in it. But I’ll be replacing it.

For the 2017 models it was 958.103.801.00. I imagine it is the same for a 2018.

Here's a reference I found, if you select the fitment tab it shows almost all of the 2017 Carrera models but doesn't seem to have a specific callout for the GTS. I'm virtually certain it is the same though.... they just haven't updated their list to include the GTS model since it was introduced later.

Thank you. That is the number I got from my dealer as well this morning.
It is strange that they will not list it in details for the GTS or under the vin.
Some sites show it as a Macan option.
Well, I guess they are all a common part.

Thank you

I can't see how there will be any wear on the o-ring at all. Crush washers need to be replaced because they get deformed when the plug is torqued. The plug puts very little stress on the o-ring. I'm not going to bother replacing the plug with every oil change. Either I'm right or I'll find a puddle on the garage floor.

I've been replacing mine every third oil change, no leaks.

I think that's the one I bought. Keep in mind, the VW and Audi engines that use this plug are all turbocharged engines.

Also, I have performed two oil changes on my 991.2, and have reused the original plug each time. No obvious wear and no leaks. I don't see any reason to replace this plug with every oil change.

The dealer gave it to me with the filter, I would assume it's available separately. I'm one of those who live over an hour from the dealer so I keep my old one as a spare each oil change "just in case"

Maybe not every change, but sooner or later the o-ring may get tired.

The wear part is the little square tab on the side which locks the plug into place to keep it tightly closed( you can see it in the pictures on the right side of the upside down picture).
If you can remove it without messing up the locking edge of this tab you should be good to reuse it ( I did).
