991.2 rear view mirror in 991.1

Reminds me of when my stereo in my 350z snapped 2 mirror stalks. Auto-dimming, homelink mirrors weren't cheap a decade ago.

It is partially the looks but mostly I feel the rounded bottom corners are cutting off a lot of rear visibility. Perhaps it's because I'm only 5'7" and sit a bit lower in the car than some of you, but I really feel the rear visibility could be better.
The new mirror might be a total placebo effect. I might just need to sit in a new 911 before I order the part.

If any one does this swap and ends up with a manual (non-auto-dimming) mirror let me know. I want to swap-out the auto-dimming mirror in my TT for a manual mirror. (I'm going to assume I can stuff the harness pigtail into the headliner or something...)

I've got the new mirror in my .2 and had the previous one in my .1 plus in my current cayenne. Seriously I don't think it's worth the upgrade, the new one just looks like any old mirror in countless cars over the years. At least the old one is distinctive.
If you want a true edgeless mirror, check the one in the new Volvo's. IMO the $395 is much better spent elsewhere, but if it makes you happy, go for it!

No. You can’t. There is no way to force the auto-dimming mirror to dim when you want it to dim: like during the day when some a$$hole in a SUV is behind you with their high beams on.

Sometimes I feel irrational, but when I come on car forums and hear of people frustrated over similar (albeit totally different in this instance) bull**** that I worry about, it makes me feel a little more sane. Thank you.
