991.2 PSE: do you folks really like this?

One thing I notice when I drove PSE equipped .2 was much noticeable back fire than my .1 gts in sport mode. I think it is more noticeable due to .2's quieter and more bass tone exhaust note. I hope Porsche fix this with 992.

Dont like it. Drove one with and without PSE prior to ordering and am glad I ordered without it. Honestly I don't think any 6 cylinder engine sounds that great regardless of the exhaust mods. When it comes to sound I am more of a V8 muscle car guy. Didn't buy y 911 for the sound so it suits me just fine that I dont hear it much.

Those of you that like it on the 991.2 and have the PDK, do you drive your car in auto mode or do you shift your car manually? It seems less obnoxious in auto mode, but when I shift manually (I shift more often than the PDK does in auto mode) it becomes unbearable.

Had my dream set up on my 997.2 Targa. Except for the PSE. Couldn’t pull the trigger on after market PSE(~7K). So opted for Fister exhaust. Very nice bit still pinning for PSE. So when getting my new 991.2 it was mandatory. Probably the best option I could buy. Not so much for my neighbors @6am. Lol.

BTW. With PDK and Sports Chrono, the individual setting is sublime. Absolutely perfect!

If I could have a slightly deeper tone to the soundtrack without all the farting....Actually I don’t have money to spend on an exhaust. Just realized, 2k for new Michelin tires plus installation and I ordered a new carbon bicycle. Expensive exhaust mods will have to wait if I ever go down that road.

I find the PDK transmission psychic. I leave in it in auto mode unless I'm driving in a decidedly sporty fashion such as my early weekend run in the twisties! Even then, it's just for my own need to feel "in control" as the PDK works everything out beautifully on its own. Of course, as the driver I can see the road coming up and can anticipate a needed gear change and in these scenarios I use manual. This car amazes me every time I drive it in a spirited fashion. There is no "one way" to drive it. It gives you so many options. I'm in love.

It sounds more natural in my 991.1 C2S with PSE and SC. But that doesn't sound nearly as good as the snap, crackle pop I had in my GT350. The Mustang sounds more race car like and a lot louder.

Meh. PSE or not does not matter much to me. And the idea of a truly "significant" exhaust note does not really appeal any more. In younger days I had headers and minimal exhaust on street cars and open pipes on race cars. Now I just like fast. I guess when I stop liking fast you can put me in the home.

I love the burble 50% of the time. What I can't understand are people who like driving their 7MT's in sport mode on a normal basis. I never touched it in my previous 997S and only turn it on now if I want a quicker onset of full boost (since wastegates are in fully opened).
