Potential 991.1 GTS buyers, would you consider a GT4?
Just posting because I have seen more and more 981 GT4 advertisements in the classified section. I suspect some GT4 owners have 991.2 GT3 orders and are looking to sell their GT4.
On the HFS thread, I stumble a few times with request from potential buyers looking for that unicorn 991.1 GTS under $100K price. I suspect if you broaden your requirements, you may find GT4 cars reaching that price.

Good question. I have noticed that 991.1 GTS and GT4 prices are similar. Like Hurricane said, if you don't care about the 911 heritage, don't want a back seat, and like manuals... the GT4 is no brainer.

I thought so too. Even though the GT4 is considered a junior GT, it got the front hardware of a GT3, no? IMHO, it is a better car if you are running up and down canyon roads or tracking.
Looks to me some GT4 for sales are languishing around and may have negotiation room. I suspect some of the owners bought their GT4 with ADM and want to unload them now at MSRP to partially pay for their new GT3. Ultimately, the market will decide. At this point, I think it is a great alternative to that unicorn manual 991.1 GTS

911 legacy, back seat, PDK, more comfortable/usable as a daily. Otherwise the GT4 is a heck of an amazing drive. I wouldn’t hesitate if you don’t care for the above. Otherwise the 991.1 is a better match.

The 911 GTS, or any 911 variant, is really not a substitute or a comparable equivalent to a Cayman GT4.
Both are fantastic in their own rights, but one does not translate to the other.
If you wanted a 911 GTS (or any 911) and you end up with a GT4, chances are you'll always feel "you settled" and will forever yearn for the 911.
If you wanted a GT4 to begin with, chances are you probably wouldn't be looking at a 911 GTS, because the things that a GT4 offers (trackability with GT3 bits like steering, suspension, brakes, etc., and the mid engine balance and feel from the Cayman chassis) simply are not extant in a 911 GTS.

For me, a 911, is a 911.... and a Cayman is not. Totally different animals. Having said that, Ive never driven a .1 GTS (only a .2, and it was ridiculous). I have been a passenger in a GT4 and the theatrics are amazing (noise, 6 speed, buckets etc), but its not as fast especially if you take of the Cup 2's.. It really depends what you want. 911 is probably a better daily driver, Cayman is probably more fun.

I am in the market for 991.1 GTS and I wouldn’t consider GT4 in the same league of 991GTS. However, I am waiting for the next 718 Spyder assuming with 4.0 GT3 detune engine or I will stick with 911 for sure. 911 is more refine, history and heritage and back seats and comfy.

I ordered my 15 GTS before the GT4 was announced . Once the GT4s hit the street, I simply waited until the value of my depreciating GTS intersected with the stable value of the GT4 with the spec I wanted, then executed pretty much an even trade. If you offered me the GTS back now plus $10,000 in exchange for the GT4 I wouldn't do the deal.

I think a GT4 could be the direction I go next, if I decide to go away from PDK, which I am not sure will happen. To me, a GT4 needs to be around $75-80k to be a really attractive buy. You can get a 997 GT3 for the same money as a GT4 which makes it difficult for me to choose the GT4.
