No matter how often you drive your Porsche, mine is daily, you have to park. When I have the option I will park away from the store and hope no one will get too close. Works most of the time but not last week. Did not notice the red paint and dent until I got home. Paint came off and no paint damage on my car but you will see on the attached photos the dent. Went to get paint less dent repair but they could not get behind this because there is an extra metal sheet that extends a few inches behind this area. OK how about glue and pull. This area is covered in Xpel that has a ceramic coating!! So here I am looking for a solution and willing to travel to get it done. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Yes, the car is dirty not its usual state. Steve, owner of a 2012 (991) Carrera S Cab WITH A DENT!!!!
Not all PDR guys are created equally. Find another one. Working in coordination with the dealership is a good call, because they can remove the black plastic wheel well liner to maybe find better access. Maybe even a small access hole can be made on the backside. Then properly primed and plugged.
My dent guy pulled a larger crease from my black 2013 991 which was just above yours and larger. It took him < an hour and it was perfect. He does the work for the dealership.
The only way to PDR that area is to have the PDR guy poke a hole in that sheet metal right under that fender and plug it with silicone after.
Not so!! I have had a dent removed from just behind the door opening about even with the door handle. No rear access. Get the right guy and magic happens. Talk to your P-dealer or other high end dealer to find the guy.
That looks pretty close to the edge of the fender panel. I think the metal is actually rolled up and a little thicker in that area, could be tougher to pull out. I had one in the center of that same panel and the guy had to remove my wheel, drill a little hold in the fender plastic and push the dent out. It came out perfect, he then put a little rubber stopper in the fender well to plug the small hole.
At least the PPF kept the underlying paint is in good condition! I wonder if it will have to be removed for the fix, I know sometimes they use heat and cold and the PPF will interfere with that. If it is you might as well extend it the rest of the way down that fender line next time... there's not a lot of real estate left there before the bumper seams.
I'd also think a premier shop might be able to make it go away, being on that crease complicates it some. I really hope it works out for you.
