My car had terrible acorn effect when it was on the P-Zeroes, not a trace of it on my Bridgestone all-seasons even with temps high 20’s/low 30’s.

Same experience when I changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S... NO MORE ACORNS!

Makes you wonder why Porsche didn’t just specify tires which don’t cause this effect as OE!

Default Michelins too

Sorry to burst the Michelins don't do it balloon, but they do. My Targa 4S with Michelins give me the acorn effect when I back out of the garage on a chilly day and turn hard in either direction. Tires warm up...no more effect. My 997.2 Targa 4 never did it on the Conti All Seasons. Going to all season tires when these Michelins run their course. The car experiences huge temp swings on our trips and the Michelin summer tires hate cold weather. Just how it is. Can't carry two sets of tires going from sea level to mountains.

Not to poke the bear though. I love Michelin tires, they just don't make all seasons for our cars or I would buy them! Conti neither. Bridgestone is it right now unless someone knows differently, and if you do please share! Thanks!

^ Yep.

Have P4S, and they started doing it a few weeks ago. About 13,700 miles on the set.

Thanks to this forum I avoided costly and time consuming investigation. I never experienced this in my 997....do not know if it is the tires or the 991, but at least I know it is not a problem.

Thanks for the reply! It seems like a design fault.
