Default Does this part just pop off?

I am going to replace the inter door sill, it had a couple scuffs on it the drive me nuts every time I open the door. Anyone replaced this part before? Suggestions on R&R, thanks. I picked up the part from Suncoast.
I did try to remove the marks with 303, but it does not take them off, it’s like the part is painted and the material below is white, very odd. The downside to a transferred car that went through dealer prep and was test driven a couple times, lol. Somebody was not as OCD as me. Yeah I know it’s a wear part, but not for me. I cover with blue painters tape when at the dealer to avoid it. It’s only a $89 trim piece.

Unless it's cracked I would just live with it.

It's going to get scuffed and scratched during normal use and you will be changing it out again.

Do you think it could be wrapped in a matte black vinyl material to hide the scuffs or even leather to match seats?

Yes, it just pulls off. It's clipped in, just use a plastic trim tool to pry up where the clips are.

I think those have a very strong double-sided tape underneath. Not easy to get off.

You can see in the recent "Schmee"video in the GT3 Forum the tech has a heat gun in his hand to remove those.

The outer door sills use real sticky double sided tape.

The inner door sills are held in with clips.

thanks! I will give it a shot. I will not scuff it, I am crazy about not letting my shoes drag on this piece. Nobody else drives the car but me and when it goes to the dealer, I blue tape the sills, and put a cover on the steering wheel to protect it from scratches. Has not failed me on any of my cars, just could not get to this one before somebody else drove it. Just surprised that it appears there is a light color base almost like these are painted???

I just checked on this earlier this week. PPF doesn't stick to plastic well enough to make this viable. That's exactly what I was planning on doing.

It comes off easily as Porsche nuts said. Just do it or it will be the only thing you see every time you drive it. You already bought the part.

I am in the process of replacing this piece, but having trouble removing the old switch using trim tools as the video advises. Any secrets to this? Last thing I want to do is destroy the switch, so I’m trying to go easy.

I've had good luck using a Mr. Clean eraser bar and detailing spray as a lubricant to hide the scuff marks.

Yeah, I’ve done that, but I still wasn’t satisfied so bought a new sill piece. Just have to figure out how to remove the switches from the old one.
