991.1 with SPASM vs 997 without it
I currently have a 997 with Sport Chrono. The ride in normal mode is totally fine. I'm about to move up to a 991.1 that has Sport PASM. I'm reading that SPASM in normal mode is stiffer than a 991's non-SPASM normal mode. But how does it compare to a 997's normal mode? My potential new car is remote, so I can't just go and see...
I gather that the 991 is a bit smoother overall than a 997. Does SPASM make the ride stiffer than my current 997?
Thanks in advance,
- Mike

Not sure about the 997, but jump on SPASM. The 991 is so inherently smooth, it can use a nice stiff setting.
I have PASM on a 991.1 with H&R springs and PTV+. I think if I had one more stiffer setting it would be perfect.

The 991 is significantly more sorted in Chassis and suspension. It is both more capable and more comfortable. SPASM in 991 will feel much more compliant than normal mode in 997. I use compliant instead of stiffer intentionally although stiffer may be more fun on valentines....

I cannot speak to the 997 (I have driven one but not enough seat time to compare). My two previous 991.1S's had PDCC/PASM and PDCC/SPASM respectively. PASM was a softer ride, for sure, very comfortable. SPASM was stiffer, no doubt, but I still found it very comfortable. PDCC may have helped with ride quality in both cases, though.

I too was concerned about the ride quality of my 991.1 C2S with SPASM before buying it. Turned out to be a non-issue. The ride is firm but not harsh at all. Go for it.
