Pricing on a CPO 2017 GTS in Atlanta??
Hi all,
Excited to potentially join the 911 party. Looking at CPO C2's, C2S's... (and some new)... when you get sports exhaust and chrono packages, one quickly gets into the range of the CPO GTS. In fact, i was just configuring a 'lean' new 2018 GTS and it was $123k with not many bells and whistles added...
So... Just checking CPO I came across the below in Atlanta for $116,950. (The VIN search pegs this at $124,960 new. But if I configure it today online it shows at $126,680. So, price is only 7% down from the March 2017 purchased price.) Could I offer lower? I was looking for a white coupe with sports exhaust, PASM, front fascia, no sunroof, and manual transmission. So this checks a lot of boxes. But, I'd have to switch out the Bordeaux seat belts. I asked SA if it had been tracked. He says "No"...
BUT... looking at the carfax, the car has two tire changes at 2,000 miles and 4,000 miles.
Should I be worried?
I am in Oregon, so can't stop by. Is Atlanta Perimeter trustworthy?

Without getting in to the whole "GTS's are rare and hold their value" debate too much......7% off of original MSRP for a used car is not the type of discount I'd expect on a USED car, no matter how recent the original purchase was or how low the miles are. This isn't a 911R, 918, or something like that. And I can almost guarantee you the dealer got it for under $100K on trade or auction. Does the Carfax show an actual first owner or does it show PCNA? It could have been a car used at PEC and a lot of folks here will tell you to stay away from those cars.
As far as the tire changes....could have just been flats. Porsche won't patch any type of flat (at least that's the "company line") so probably just a simple puncture with the tire being replaced. The tire changes wouldn't concern me at all.

Yes, I heard back... the tire changes were both nail repairs. Phew.
The car was supposedly handed back early due to a change in circumstances. (Probably happens a lot.) And, sold to one owner last March (2017).
I am seeing threads here of 10-15% off MRSP for a year old car. Actually others claiming more like 20%... Seems like there is a lot of room.

7% seems low IMO on a CPO '17, but two things to consider as well:
1) Most people know that 991.2 allocations are getting hard to come by as Porsche is gearing up for 992 production, trying to make as many GT-models as they can, and perhaps limiting supply to keep demand high. So perhaps there is less wiggle room than we think as dealers know this. White GTS MT is a spec that will sell, so it's not like the C4S Cabs @ $150K or some odd spec.
2) I wouldn't miss out on an opportunity to get a car that fits exactly what I am looking for by a couple points. Life is short, if you locate the right car I would negotiate on it for sure but wouldn't give it up for an extra 1-2% off
That being said, again, I would negotiate but only if you are ready to pull the trigger, so that they know you are ready to purchase and not just kicking tires. I've learned from first-hand experience that makes a big difference to get them to pony up and really put out a competitive offer.

Also wondering about breaking the side visual up with something like these side decals. Where does one get these????? (Quick search and I found Porsche at $340 a set, and eBay for $45???)

That certainly is a nice build. Having five years and unlimited miles worth of a warranty is good too.
But I agree, that price is rather high. Depreciation is definitely higher than that. Some dealerships say they “can’t” move on CPO prices, but I’ve yet to find one not will to work with you to get a deal, especially when you’re legitimately prepared to walk.
it is certainly harder to manage this from a distance, but all they can do is say no.

I bought my GTS from Perimeter. They are a good dealership. I have 4k on my car and its already had a tire replaced.
There is a lot of roadwork going on in the metro Atlanta area. Its likely from that if its a local car.
I just looked at the link, I agree with you on the Bordeaux seat belts.

Would not delete the GTS emblems. Door GTS emblem is stock that came with GTS model. GTS emblem on back lid is not stock but works well. On my GTS, I deleted the model script on back lid and it reads simply PORSCHE which is simple and looks good IMHO.
PORSCHE side lettering cheapens the car and looks very 70's striping .....IMHO.

So... SA balked at $106k. I am trying to see if they will do $110k and included them putting "PORSCHE 911 Carrera GTS" on the back, and switching out the Seat Belts. (Apparently roughly $2,700 for those items of cost for them.)
At 106k, it is 15.2% off MRSP.
At 110k (with work done), it is 14%
In the spirit of another spreadsheet I saw here on RL, I put the following together. To show how LIST price starts at 10-12% off. I made the point that negotiations START from here.
I am also seeing a lot of interest on the forums on '15 and '16 NA GTS's... and those come with much more palatable discounts. Let's see what Atlanta says... but I'm prepared to wait for a better deal.
