Create a memory for life, or pay someone else to truck it across the country? If I had the time—a very fortunate position all by itself—it wouldn't be a tough decision for me.

As for I-10, the trip will be what you make of it. Surely there are some alternate routes and stops, but one thing I notice every time I drive to LA is how much I like just being in the car and listening to music. It's a rare treat these days, and phone calls are often skipped.

If time and money are an issue, ship it. Also less wear and tear.

Man I feel weak. My dealer is 110 miles form my house and I had considered having the car shipped down to me when it comes in a couple weeks! lol

Do you smoke cigars? That would potentially change my vote

Think of the resale with all those miles!!!!

Default PPF Drive It

Have someone PPF then drive it...I piked up my 964 and drove it with a buddy from little rock to Florida. Epic trip with a stop in Memphis at Rendevous.

CPO until July 2018.

Now I am debating if I should drive it from Miami to Los Angeles (2700 miles) or ship it using Intercity or a similar company.
Car has 53k miles.
Thoughts?

It's already a higher mileage car so adding another few thousand isn't going to make the value dive. I haven't driven much of the route you would take so I can not speak for how interesting or boring it may be.
If I had the time, I would definitely drive it. Too low temperatures down south should not be a factor if you have summer tires on your new 911. Enjoy your car. Drive it!

Enjoy the drive, even the boring parts (which should be less boring with a sweet new 991). And like others suggested, find a few strategic detours to mix things up. You can get many suggestions here. And yes, I-10 sucks from Florida to central Texas (not too bad west of there, IMO).

Great decision! PM me if you want to meetup for TexMex when you pass through Houston -- I'll give you a quick 20 mile detour off I-10 just west of Houston where you can burn some curves.

Congrats!
