Going from a 991.2 S to a T...make sense?

Frankly,
The word is still out on just 'how special?' 991.2 T will be!
We all know the weight savings will be marginal at best and from a recent video i saw the gearing is still fairly tall. That being said I just got my 991.2 base manual with PSE and SC and I feel i have the best of both worlds.
It will not be as special as the GT3, but then again if it is special to you - all that matters. Wait for one to drive i say, and do some soul searching and find out what would make you happy in a 911. If it's a color thing then..

^ and some HP. I wouldn't do it but thats me. I bet you would get tired of door pulls etc. As someone above said, wrap it a different color? What you will lose would more than cover a paint job I bet.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Nothing like being saved from making an "emotional" decision. Anyway, probably should start another thread on what color wrap would go well but I'll take more good advice from ya'll.

Help guys - been reading up on the T lately and the package looks really attractive and the T will be somewhat special. I currently have a 991.2 GBM S, 7MT, full leather, and all the options I like. Would it be taking a step down to a T or will I enjoy having the T more than the S? The T allocated to me should be here in March so I gotta think fast! The T will be black w/ Carrera T interior w/ yellow stitching and yellow SC clock, BOSE, LCA and not much else (approx. 112.5k).

Makes ZERO financial sense. If you dislike the color on your car... do you really dislike it or are you using that to convince yourself (or your wife) that it is worth getting rid of? You would not be the first
Daily Driver? Your S is likely a better fit. Toy/weekend car? The T could potentially be more fun, especially with the new gearing.
At the end of the day, any 911 is an emotional choice. The heart wants what the heart wants!

I may be 1 of very few but I don't get why the T is so "special". And this is no disrespect to anyone that has ordered one. Not really anything special about the engine, gearing, or hp. If special means there may be limited production then that may make it worth having for some but trading an 991.2 S for one seems strange just to get cloth door straps.
And I have traded for some strange reasons myself.

Only reason I could think of that particular switch would be to get full buckets and RAS in that model. And the gearing mentioned above.
I too built a few Ts on the Configurator and then realized I don't want full buckets and already have RAS and the Powerkit.
But I like my car's color as well. If you really don't like it and can afford it, it's always fun ordering and buying a new car!

To me, the T is a 'special edition' of the 991.2 C2 with a few nice options as standard, including some features that you can't get on a regular C2. But I'm not buying it thinking that it's super-lightweight or that it's a junior GT3

Just trying to save you some money, drawing on my 'expensive' journey from Macan 2.0, to 991.1 C2 to Panamera 4 to Carrera T.

A T is simply a 'special' edition of the base model. Not worth any more, ink less s it is the way you want it optioned. If you are coming from another brand or older base 911 and the T is at the top of your budget, it's a great car. But it is certainly less than a 991.2 Carrera S.

Not worth the hit. Just drive the crap out of the C2S and save the $25k. Drive it hard and enjoy every minute. When you do eventually sell it or trade it, you'll have gotten your money's worth.
