Default 991.2 Base Carrera w/PSE how to add more sound?

Morning!

I'm sure I could've done a more comprehensive search, but while quickly browsing I hadn't seen this question asked? Anyway, I recently purchased a 7mt 2018 991.2 carrera coming from a 2016 carrera and love the car! As discussed many times the new engine has it's upsides and downsides, downside for me being sound. Not saying it sounds bad, but coming from the 3.4 with PSE it just sounds a little flat.

What is everyone doing to add a bit more personality to their PSE? I'm not looking to replace the system.

Thanks!

Kekoa

Cant answer your question but... I just turned in a 2016 lease with PSE and test drove a .2 base with PSE. After all the negative comments I read on here I was really surprised at how good it sounded in stock form.

From what Ive read, I believe it will be difficult and expensive to improve on. In sport mode the exhaust is VERY free flowing. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Did the same search, seems the consensus is to mess with the catalytic converters, either delete or sport.
The rest won't change much. Some nice aftermarket resonator replacement out there, imho didn't upped the sound that much.

late by 14 minutes, should have hit reply when I typed it instead of making breakfast, the .1 crowd can't help themselves, soon we'll see vacuum videos.

Realistically, without changing out the exhaust not much hope.

The amount of bandwidth on these forums devoted to sound cracks me up. I have never heard a 6 cylinder motor that the sound impressed me. Buy something with 8 or more cylinders or be pleased with what you have.

I just drove a 991.2 4S and thought it sounded fine also - after all the negative press I was pleasantly surprised.

Should we send a "well being" check to R-Rated's house?

Check out Fabspeed. They have one for the 991.2 base. Kinda loud if that is your thing.
Also Tubi. You can check it out at Suncoast. Pricey and loud. https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...92TUBIPSE.html

OP you might also want to explore removing some of the sound deadening material. Both the T and GTS versions have done this to deliver more mechanical engine noises to the cabin.

Love this thread

Joking aside - Race(catless) headers are your best bet without trading up to a 991.1...
