Thanks for all your thoughts. Decided to say f*** it and did the full wrap. Dropped it off my at detailers shop and will have it back in a few days.
Before I doing the full frontal wrap (llumar platinum film ) and gtechniq crystal serum pro with interior leather protection. I was looking at 4k for the job.
Doing the full wrap bumped it up to 6800. So it wasnt too bad.
Halved condoms work too but don't be surprised if a kid pops out 9 months later...
Go full wrap or stay naked.
IUDs work even better...

I wouldnt try to push one over the other without reviewing both side-by-side, but legit actual companies like 3M or Xpel have PPFs that are real products, those look like spam websites to me.
Im not trying to suggest your car wont get wrapped up in something but I mean if you come over to my house, Ill wrap your car up in Seran Wrap for $200, but that doesnt mean that you should.

Weird timing. I just spoke to my local guy about this today. He installs both Llumar and Xpel. He said the Llumar is great for a weekend car with little track use but to go with Xpel for a daily driver and/or heavy track use. His price was only $150 more for Xpel on the front half only. I would do more than that but that is what he had for a price comparison.

I asked my guy today about Xpel vs Llumar. He prefers te Llumar due to better self healing property. He says both are similar in durability, and that the Llumar has a smoother finish to the film than the Xpel.
He said he can do Xpel if I really want it, but if Im wrapping the whole car. The Llumar will feel much smoother to the touch and give off a better shine than Xpel

Not sure why you have a hard-on for LLumar, which is essentially Suntek, but the platinum version is the only covering that is hydrophobic from what I have seen, and carries a 10 year guarantee like the other top of the line brands. And as far as websites go they are all pretty pathetic. I guess confirmation bias is a powerful thing.

Mine did say the Llumar was optically clearer and hence a better shine. He thinks Xpel is more durable. It's funny how you get different opinions from different installers. We know that never happens with internet commenters.
I hear that the installers also look at how hard is it to put on and take off if needed.
The harder and stronger it is, the more difficult it is to work with.
The word is the Xpel is a little harder to put on and fix installation mixups. While SunTek is a little more forgiving during install.
Not sure if its true as I never installed one, but that is more of what I hear from the 5 installers I spoke with.
In this topic, just had partial wrap on my GTS at my local porsche dealer but the brand is some other than the comercial ones, do you typically see some Shawdowing when looking at the film with polarized lenses?
I'm about to send my new GTS to the spa to get protected. I was originally going to go with the full frontal wrap with the gtechniq pro ceramic coating, but I got to thinking that if i'm wrapping the front half of the car, might as well look into wrapping the whole car.
Any downsides to doing a full wrap? Any regrets? I do plan on driving my GTS year round in Colorado, which would get naturally sand blasted
Im going to start an insurance slush fund. Everyone can buy in at .5 x the cost of a PPF job and ill guarantee your paint when you go to sell your car to the next guy. You wont have to worry about the errant pebble and youll be able to enjoy your cars high end paint job as it was meant to be enjoyed, sans plastic.
