Default 991.2 engine grill on a 991.1

Does anyone know if the grill from a 991.2 will fit on a 2015 991.1 C2S? I want a more retro looking grill to go with my ducktail.

What is the part number and cost for the 991.2 grill above?

I like this a lot, but I'm not interested in the 991.1 gts grill because it is missing a slat for the brake light. The duck tail already has a brake light.

Same issue with the 50th grill

If the 991.2 grill is too much $, I'll have to do something like this. Maybe just wrap in carbon fiber vinyl.

Other ideas?

Well, I found it in gloss black or matt black at Suncoast for $899, but I still don't know if it will fit a 991.1

Suncoast wasn't able to tell you if the .2 grill would fit the .1?

I haven't called Suncoast. Their description doesn't say it would go back to 2015. It looks to me there might be a chance. To be honest, the cost is holding me off. Maybe I'll find one from a car being parted out.

So, I went about taking my original off and taking it apart. I wrapped each slat and reassembled. It came out pretty nice.

Before.

During.

2 out of 3 wrapped.

After! Lousy picture in the garage, but you get the idea.

Looks nice! I'm partial to the stock painted look of the shark fin 991.1 slats, but the CF is a nice touch.

To the OP - no, cannot use 991.2 grille on 991.1, at least not according to Suncoast (the actual panel that it clips into is different and has different plumbing/openings to accommodate the additiomal airflow for turbos). Good luck! -Dom

Digging this thread up again..... has anyone figured this out? Seems if the .1 and .2 grills are the same dimensions someone here surely has engineered the fit and installation

I would assume you have to figure out how to have the factory air intake for the NA engines somehow mate up to the plastic bits on the underside of the engine lid. It's probably not an easy thing to do.

Believe me, would love to have the 991.2 GTS engine lid. I think it looks gorgeous.

Is there enough demand to create an aftermarket solution that is a close clone to .2 and an improved version of the GTS with the slat not removed?

A buddy and I tried - he’s got a 991.2 and I’ve got a .1, both cabs. The .2 is an inch or two wider and curves more. The .2 grille engine cover will categorically not fit the .1 in any way shape or form.
