Clutch noise in 991.2 4S
For folks who have the MT, does your clutch make a tapping/metallic sound when pressing it? Today it was quite cold (25oF) and when I went for a drive, I could hear a tapping sound whenever I pressed the clutch. The sound was much less prominent after the car had warmed up. My car is a 2018 C4S with about 3200 miles. Just street driving. Thanks for your feedback.

Have a PDK,...but know enough about clutches (had several before) that they should not make any such noise on a regular basis. You might hear a little mechanical noise with the window open pressing and releasing it, but nothing like you are stating. With the amount of miles is has on it,....I'd just take it to the dealer and have them take a look. Could be many things......from a bad throw out bearing to a pressure plate bolt backing out.

I emailed the service advisor at my dealer. He told me it is normal for the clutch to make some noise in the cold. If it gets worse, I will take it in.

Happens in my 991.2 GTS, sounds like a spring rubbing on something.
This morning it was 20 deg when I got in the car, by the time I got to work 40 mins later it was no longer squeaking.

You want to hear clatter......get a lightweight flywheel.

My 2019 C4 also makes a loud metallic noise when depressing the clutch in cold weather. I called my dealer but didn’t get an answer yet if the sound is considered to be normal. I find this strange since the 911 is my 4th manual car and I never experienced this my other cars in winter driving.
