Has the CPO warranty changed? When I bought my 2013 used it had a CPO warranty of almost 4 years and 100K miles. The initial warranty started 3/13 and I bought it 5/15 so my CPO warranty went from 5/15 to 3/19. But in reviewing used 991's on the Porsche site (click the CPO warranty info button when looking at a car) it states the warranty is for 2 years or 50K miles. Any info on this?

I believe cpo covers 2 yrs from the end of the original warranty or an additional 50k miles, whichever occurs first.

CPO adds two years to the original four year warranty: the warranty on your 2013 with CPO should run until 2019 (without CPO it would have expired in 2017).
In other words: when you bought it in 2015 there was four years remaining in the 4 year (original) + 2 year (CPO extension) warranty. (Assuming you stay under the 150,000 total mile warranty limit)

Seems to me, buying a 2 year old CPO'd car is a good deal. It has lost that initial depreciation and has essentially a new car warrant.

CPO Warranty coverage:

• Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Limited Warranty covers up to 6 years, or a cumulative 100,000 miles, from the original in-service date (whichever occurs first), if the vehicle is still under the new car limited warranty at the time of purchase.

• For vehicles no longer under the new vehicle limited warranty at the time of used retail delivery, Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Limited Warranty coverage extends until the earlier of:
  • 2 years from the date of used retail delivery
  OR
  • 50,000 miles from the mileage at used retail delivery, but not to exceed a cumulative 100,000 total miles on the vehicle

Yep...I found this as the sweet spot of depreciation to warranty coverage. I paid 82k for 20k miles 2 year old 124k MSRP car.

Pretty significant savings. Also today, I am sure my particular build could still fetch high 60's to low 70's even with 40k miles on it.

i've been talking to a few local dealers, almost all of them mentioned that porsche have gotten rid of the 50k mile / 100k mile limit on CPOs. So i guess if you were planning to take your 911 over 100k miles in a few years time.... well worry no more!

Even better, find one less than two years old and you have a longer warranty than a new one!

Bought my '09 997.2 in '11 and my '14 991.1 in '16.

CPO Porsche is the only way to go! I had a 997.2 2010 CPO and now a 2013 991.1 Carrera S CPO I purchased in June with significant savings.

I'll most likely pass the 991.2 Generation..... Plan on a CPO 992 for for my next Carrera S down the line.
