Thinking about a 2013 911 Carrera S. Need some advice please.

I didn't get much on mine. The challenge is they know the MT's are in demand.
Mine was listed at $99,900. I paid that price, and they included enclosed transport (around $2k) + a battery tender. Could I have negotiated more? Probably.
Don't let the fact that it's Porsche scare ya. They're still a car dealership, and they still grind deals

Of course you can offer and lowball. They don't have to accept it.
They will lowball you with a trade in without a second thought.
These are just used cars and they are just used car salesman. Same games as anywhere else.
Don't get bedazzled by the badge (until you have bought it, then it's totally different!!)

If it were me, I'd try 105 Cdn and see where that goes. Simon at Marks is a good guy. Just give him a call and chat for a bit. You might get a feel at how desperate they are to move it.

Is that a Canada thing? I see MT's sitting on the lot forever around here. In fact as an MT buyer you have the upper hand because you are buying something that 90% of buyers would not even consider.

From my searching it seems like a Canada thing. Ironically I am currently living in Texas, but it is temporary, and I do not want to buy the car in the States and have to deal with import hassles when I return to Canada.

If Porsche hadn't gone turbo with the 991.2 I would gladly have just ordered a new one spec'd the way I want. But, I guess I saved $50k.

Yes, very rare here. Not a lot of 911's in Canada in the first place, and then MT's are less than 10%. Literally, a two-year search to find the right one for me.

I keep an eye on inventory at my local dealer and I know that whenever they have a manual in stock it will take them much much longer to move that car - hence my assertion that those are buyers cars.

So i would say 90/10 is the same in the south, but I would take the position that I am a rare buyer for that hard-to-shift manual you have out on the lot and I am about to do you a big favor and take it off your hands for a very special price.............that worked for me, but I guess the overall volumes play a factor into market pricing.

I totally hear what you're saying. But, they're just such oddly different markets. You have 10 times the population and more than 10 times the vehicle volume. It's amazing how much that changes the complexion. From searching the past two years I can say that generally speaking, there were never any more than 5-10 MT 991's for sale in Canada at any given time. In the US right now on Auto Trader you have 122 2013-2016 coupes with a MT.

Any idea how much the previous owner received for it upon trade in?
