Default Nitto NT555 G2 Tires - 305 size available

Just searching around on the Discount Tire web site and see that Nitto now has a 305 size available.

Pretty decent price .....

Anyone going to give them a try?

They're only rated for speeds up to 168 mph, so I will not be trying them.

They are probably a compromise compared to Pirelli and Michelin. What is price difference?

Bzzzzzt. Wrong. If you want to run tires rated BELOW OEM, go right ahead.

Just looking at the tire price (no additional fees or shipping)

Nitto's are around $800 a set and Michelin are around $1300.

There is no right answer here. If you drive a 911 and never drive above 80 mph, why would you need the OEM spec tire? Knowledge is the key, understand load rating, temps, speed ratings and make an informed choice. We don't need any more nannies. If one has no clue about tires, heat, speed and risks associated therein, then go OEM as they will have you covered.

168 is pretty hard to hit with these cars on track (maybe unless if you're at one of those NASCAR oval + some infield combinations) but agreed lower speed rating definitely doesn't give any comfort

This is a fine reason for taking European Delivery.

This is the only thread I have seen on this tire, so I am posting here. My C2 came with these tires installed. I hate them. Ride is OK, but the NOISE is atrocious. The drone on Concrete or above 70mph drowns out the sport exhaust. I hate them and can’t wait for them to die.

I had a stock ‘87 Supra in my early twenties and hit 150 with Goodyear Gatorbacks on the back roads of Edwards AFB. Oh those years when I was young, dumb, and full of you know what. I can totally see folks hit 168+ in this beast, of course on the track or the Autobahn.
