Carrera S 991.1 (2012.5) 19" wheels?
Hey Guys,
I have a 2012.5 C2S that came with the 20" Carrera Classic Wheels with the pzero tires. I refuse to put it away during the winter so I'm looking to get some extra wheels and put winter tires on it.
Since this is an S and the brakes are a little bigger, can I use a 19" wheels? Are there 20" winter tires?
Thank you.

AFAIK 19" wheels were standard on the S in most markets besides the US so they should fit fine.
Not sure where you are located, and I know most people here love their winter wheels and tires, but I've driven on summer tires for years in NJ winters (not my daily so no snow of course) with no issues. They start out with a little less grip but seem to stick fine as soon as there's some heat in them.

Hey WCE,
I'm located in NY, close to North NJ. I'm not planning on using the car when there's snow, it's just that I read that I can damage these tires if the temperature drops below 35-40F. This is really the only reason I'm contemplating getting winter tires. This is not my daily.

There are 20" OEM winter wheel tire sets and 19" winter wheel tire sets available from Porsche. I have the 19" set. They fit the base or S. You do have to be careful to make sure you get the narrow body offset. The c4/c4s/GTS all use different offset for the winter wheel set. I think the 19" probably perform better in snow but for cold dry weather the 20" may be better. Either way I live in NY area and absolutely think it is INSANE to keep the summer tires on the car during the winter. From November to April I put my winter wheels on....so should you or don't drive the car. It's not safe.

I have the 20" winter wheel set (on Carrera S wheels) and they worked great on my 991.1 S. I actually need to sell them as they will not fit the 991.2 GTS that I ordered. I need to join Rennlist and list them LOL.
