PEC Atlanta in December?
Good Idea or Not based on weather alone?
Would you save this for a summer trip?
I have read some other threads and thanks everyone for their input.
Previous: 2015 991.1 C2S
Current: 2016 991.1 GTS
Considering:
PEC 911 Turbo vs GT3
30 Min Simulator
Dinner
Previous Virtual Reality Games have made me dizzy. Is this simulator different?
Any other helpful opinions?
TIA
Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving

If on the way back from a biz trip where some of the expenses would be paid for, I'd do it. You will find out what it is all about, and can always go back if you love it. It is what I would do.

You have a better chance that the track will be warm enough it won't hugely affect performance than you do of it being really cold. In the 60s in Atlanta today. Haven't really had any really cold days so far this year.
The simulator is not really virtual reality. You are sitting in sort of a drivers cockpit with a couple monitors a couple feet from your face. The seat nor monitors do not move. It really isn't a simulator so much as it is a video game the way they have it set up. In fact it is the same game you can get for PS4 Assetto Corsa. The simulator is fun but I would say it is a far stretch to call it a simulator. I can also tell you the game has a bit of a learning curve. I went down there with 3 buddies and we raced for an hour. At the 30 minute point we were starting to figure it out.

if its clear and dry you should go. I was there and as normal it was cold and wet. If you like rain driving that would be great for you. As far as the whole place goes, theres not much to see as far as Im concerned. The driving would be the attraction.

I went in late November a few years ago and it was awesome. The low-speed activities were lots of fun and several are low-traction activities anyhow, some the temperatures are irrelevant. Actually, I think the summer’s heat in Hotlanta could be a challenge.
The high speed stuff isn’t a 10/10ths race track. You can go plenty plenty fast to experience the cars but nobody has a stop watch on you. Go when you can. Avoid having a heavy lunch if you’re driving in the afternoon. Muesem was very well done too. We spent a leisurely day and enjoyed every minute.

Considering I’ve been in shorts for Christmas the past two years, I think you’re fine. It doesn’t get that cold here, generally, until Jan. Even then, I don’t think it’s that big of an issue.
