Yes - cabs carry a premium. Not as much as they once did but probably 5% with the 991 used market, all else being equal. Don't get me wrong, I still think the coupe is better looking (and I own a cab, though they are closer in shape then they have ever been).
I think after 5 years, the premium is either 0 or negative, cant look now but I will later

Look at NADA and blue book (whether or not you agree on their estimates, they ARE based on vehicle sales) and the range for a cab is higher, with the same options/miles. I looked at 2013 as 2012s get 'muddied' by the 997. Difficult time to compare apples to apples however, as most of the country is in winter and that would affect sales.

Seasonality is probably much higher in cabs pricing, you would have to compare average prices for both throughout the year. I think I remember reading in this forum that the residual values for leases wrote off the "cab option" cost pretty much after 36 months. And, anecdotally, in the type of vehicles I have been following for the last couple of years, my impression is that cabs go for the same price than coupes 3-4 years after the manufacture date of the cars.
FYI... I just picked up a new to me 2013 CAB after lurking around for many months. I agree with the OP, these cars move fast so a lot of dealers are reluctant to discount much.
Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. Although, I do feel I could have negotiated a bit better...I didn't want to risk losing the deal since this car was pretty much the only white/red cab for under 75K in the us.
2013 CPO - White/Red full leather, black top, PDK, Chrono about a 119k original msrp
23,900 miles
Full 20K Service
2 keys
68,250 plus Tax,tags etc
I was just offered $73 to trade my 13 cab back to the dealer. He said they would have priced it at $79 on the lot. It does have 10K miles and more options than the one you are looking at including being a manual, sport crono, PSE, etc...
If you like the car I'd just go in and start at $5K off and see where you end up. IMO paying a few thousand more than the "best" deal is long forgotten if you end up with a car you love.
Looking at this 2012 991 and asking if there is anyone in the Phoenix area that could go by and take a look at it for me? Difficult to buy long distance and cannot fly to every possible purchase. Any help much appreciated.
