Arrow Base vs S Side mufflers

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the base 3.4 and the S 3.8 side mufflers? Maybe in the bends or something?

The Part numbers different

Base 3.4:

991-111-422-03 Right Side
991-111-421-03 Left Side

S 3.8:

991-111-322-03 Right Side
991-111-321-03 Left Side

Just one digit.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to exchange my base 3.4 stock cans, for Gundo modified 3.8 cans.

Did some searching but couldn't find an answer. I did find that the 997 base vs S cans were also off by 1 digit.

Thanks!

Answer for future reference:

They are different and not interchangeable. That's what I was told anyway - don't have further details.

The difference is the position of the tailpipe.

For non S mufflers, they end up being centrally located in the exhaust cutout, as you have either the single oval tip or the dual tip which has a single inlet.

For the S models (or 3.4 with PSE) the exhaust system has two tailpipes on either side so the outlet for the side mufflers needs to be offset from the centre (towards the edge of the car)

Thats the only difference as far as I'm aware, they mount exactly the same way and are the same size. The PSE side mufflers are the same as the S mufflers which is why upgrading to PSE on an S car is so much cheaper as you don't have to buy the side mufflers.

The reason I know is that I wanted to fit an IPE Evolution exhaust to my 3.4 (pretty much the same setup as an AWE switch path) To get it to fit correctly I had to buy S side mufflers.

They are different.

To upgrade to PSE on an S requires only center mufflers.

On a base model, requires all three replaced.
