getting bored with the car

Think systematically. First, have you had this problem before? Do you tend to get bored with cars? If not, then it's the car, and not a pattern. If it is the car, what's different about this car from your previous cars? Are you used to driving manuals, and this was your first pdk? Is it not as fast or as raw as your previous cars? Maybe the horsepower is the problem, or specifically the horsepower to weight ratio?
I've only had this feeling once before. I had a couple E39 5-series in a row with manual transmissions, and then I moved to an area with more traffic, so I tried to be practical and purchased an automatic. I was bored with the car from day one.

i have my 991 PDK base car for a year
i really liked the car, but seems like i am getting bored now
missing something and i don't know what
i traded my vette and Maser for the Porsche and now i miss them
is there any power modification that are reliable and not to expensive?

Interesting. I leased a C2 MT just under two years ago as an experiment. Didn't really care for it that much. Broke my foot a year ago so I didn't drive it for a solid two months. Now, driving it more to get all my mileage in before the end of the lease I find myself liking it more and more. 18 months ago I was going to turn it in at the end of the lease for sure, now I am giving serious thought to buying it.

If you don't have big power to play with, automatics can be boring.

I think getting bored with our vehicles is a sign of the addiction After a year and a half with my first 911, I am not bored but at the same time am not taking the car out and strafing back roads like I once did. Guess the novelty has worn off a little. Not bored though. I let my vehicle switching go wild with motorcycles. Quite a lot cheaper!

There is something about the overall drivability, I can't quite put my finger on it but it's there.
Now, I may still get bored (who knows down the road) but will only upgrade within the 911 family, that's for sure.

Yep I agree. I could spend all day practicing my heel and toe, but flicking the flappy paddle takes no practice. I think I’d prefer a 3.4 MT to my PDK 3.8.

I was smashing around a 718 Boxster Spyder manual at PEC LA and felt there was still plenty more to master.

^I'm doing the "master the Manual " in 911s in 2 weeks. Been driving MT for 44 years and still love it but I'm sure I'll learn a lot. I'd be bored to tears in PDK. Try tracking it...thats where PDK shines IMO. I couldnt imagine being bored in my 991.2. Maybe you need a Lambo or something. New Z06?

time to trade for a 7MT or S model! When I was shopping for my 991.1, I was open to C2 with stick or C2S with stick or PDK...was afraid I'd get bored with an S PDK, but knew I'd get bored with a base PDK!

It could just be that he needs something else. I just sold my 991S PDK as I also just didn't get the same feeling driving it, not because it was a PDK as I didn't want a MT. I previously had an older Ferrari and desperately wanted something more refined and a better everyday car, which the Porsche is. After about a year of ownership on the 911 I started missing the sound, look and feeling I had in the Ferrari, sadly it just never happened in the Porsche..

Sometimes I think that people who are bored with their car may just be bored with life. It might be time to get a few new hobbies.
That said - if you want a torque monster go pick up the Corvette ZR1 when it is released ... 700 HP ... you may lose your license but you definitely won't be bored with it.
