I like nice things, but I feel more proud when I accomplish mending or building something myself than just simply trading monies for an object.

Wine and beer rack I built last week that hasn’t fallen apart (yet):

I keep some at home for special occasions and a a couple hours after decanting, it's amazing.
I had a bottle of Opus 1 on the train ride to the Newark, NJ airport on our way to pickup our new 911 in Leipzig last July. I thought it would be really special to drink a $400/bottle. It sucked. I prefer a $12 bottle of Malbec. The friggin cork broke off in the bottle neck too. Fortunately, the wine was a gift so I don't feel too bad.

It needs to breath for some time before drinking otherwise it is very average at best.

Well, I was in a fight with my wife because I forgot to print out the train tickets. We waited until 15 minutes before we arrived at the airport to open it. After recognizing that we had a choice to drink the wine or throw it away, we downed the $400 bottle in about 10 minutes. It didn't have much time to breathe. Neither did I.

This thread has taken a very odd and entertaining turn from the original post!

I'm just saying. People are free to post what they want. I'm stating an opinion, as it is a public forum, and like some others have said, why flaunt it. I was at a public golf course when one of the add-ons to my foursome saw my car in the parking lot and said: "wow what an awesome car, is that new, congrats, man." So the next question he asked, "so what do you do for a living?" MYOB! I'm not saying that you, in particular, are looking to find out how Porsche owners are living large, but I question why the curiosity with houses? I've seen "what watch do you wear..." threads where someone laid out their entire watch collection on the steering wheel, totaling over 100k, for what purpose other than to show off. I'm not personally attacking you and just expressing an opinion on threads like this where I clearly can ignore and don't need to participate in, but it is the internet.

Since I've decided to participate, I feel the need to post my house. Better yet, let me post the trifecta - my 911 Turbo S, to match my Yacht in Miami blue, with my trophy girlfriend. Top that fellas! j/k

You just leave the wine out at room temperature?
