Here's my top 5. If you bump it to 6, remind me to add Graphite Blue Metallic:
1. S model—not too hot, not too cool, just right. And as my wife said, anything without the red brakes is a non-starter. Since the S brakes are also bigger, they make for a better stopper.
2. PDK—even though it's my first non-manual in 20+ years, it's worth a go for the sheer technical brilliance. Never driven anything else quite like it. I mean, I never thought I'd own a car with two transmissions.
3. Glass Sunroof—haters gonna hate, but I like how the black glass looks from the outside, and the way Porsche integrated other fixed glass roof panels so it looks like one big black roof. I also love the ability to tilt or open it on nice days; but when it's battened down, there's not a squeak, rattle or shake (on mine).
4. Leather Interior (ideally two-tone chalk/blue)—deluxifies the entire interior experience. I test drove a base model without it, and the interior felt a little like an Audi A3 or GTI. Not bad; just not delicious.
5. Sport Chrono—besides the dash looking utterly nude and weird without it, you get the "happy dial," which lets you dial-in Sport or Sport+, and you get launch control, to terrify or delight children, spouses and friends.

Did not expect this
okay so I discovered 1 after purchase...
- S Model
- 7MT
- Sport Chrono (Dynamic transmission mounts)
- Sport Design Wheel (to match the rest of the shiny silver bits)
- Leather Sport Seats Plus (almost look like racing seats with just enough cushion)
- PSE (added after purchase)
- Fire Extinguisher (did not know I wanted this until the car came with one but the force is high with that one)
- Clear Tail and Side Lights
- Sunroof Delete
Oh wait a second that's 9 if you count the seats although I think they come with the S ??
It makes me happy to see all the folks here who still know how to drive a manual. At the car wash yesterday I had to move my 545 because the teenager could not.

I would say (independent of Coupe/Cabriolet/Targa, S or GTS):
- PSE
- Sport Chrono
- PASM(std) or S-PASM
- Sport Design pkg
- reversing camera (if cabriolet or targa)
- a transmission of your choice

Had to be a S or 4S
Had to be a manual transmission, didn't like the PDK car I test drove
Wife hates Silver cars, I like Black or Blue or Brown
Interior had to be non-monotonous- needs some accents in carbon, sliver, or something
Sport Chrono (although now that I have one, I don't know if it really adds all that much- i haven't really used it, plus it makes adding a dash top phone holder difficult)
Preferably not the lobster claw rims
(hard to keep it to just 5, i was really picky)
I regret the car I chose doesn't have heated seats. But I don't regret that it was $9000 cheaper than the other car I was considering.

Nah....maybe for the track sure. But on the street, your stopping power is limited by your tires not your brake caliber size.

Must have options
1. N/A GTS - which checks the must have performance and features most important - PSE, SC, PASM, black front lights, alcantara, etc.
2. Rhodium Silver w Cararra S or CL black wheels
3. No Sport PASM just regular PASM. I know, get the pitchforks out lol.....
4. 1+ years factory warranty remaining
5. Under $100k budget, under 5k miles, mint condition
Personally, I wouldnt buy a 991.1 without a PSE. Its the #1 most important option
Wish I could have had the following.
1. Full GTS interior
2. CL wheels
3. Sunroof or glass roof
4. MT would have been very very nice
Regrets. None. While I dream about some of the "wish have's" listed, none of them are really missed or make a huge difference in ownership. Considering I got all my must have's and a killer deal I'm good for now.
If I were 991.2 shopping
1. C4 for the widebody and AWD
2. MT
3. SC
4. glass roof
5. heated / vented seats
I thought the .2 C4 is the sweet spot in the .2 lineup. Plenty of power but get the widebody for only a couple thousand more. And MT is standard to boot. I was considering the .2 C4 until I came across a very nice deal on the .1 GTS.
