Your Top 5 Must Have Options
#18
My primary search filter for a used 911 was:
a manual tranny which provided very few cars.
Next was the "S".
Next was a lengthy CPO.
Next was low miles
Next was PSE.
In the .2, the sports package captures 5 very nice options (sport mirrors, steering wheel, PSE, RWS and SC which made that choice easy.
When buying used, certain tradeoffs must be made, but I found a build that checked most of my boxes. My 991 has other performance options but they were not critical to my purchase decision.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the rear axle steering. Makes the car much more maneuverable at low speeds, so its easier to get in to parking spaces, garages, etc. It is also said to prolong the life of the rear tires (this according to an article I read in Excellence mag)

If I were to spec a new one right now it would be:
GTS
Full leather (alcantara delete)
Premium Package Plus
Bose
Rear axle steering
I'd have a hard time deciding whether or not I would want a manual gearbox.

Mine was difficult searching used:
S
Cab
7MT
Full Leather
Not black or beige interior
Sport Design steering wheel
PSE
Sport Chrono
Ventilated seats (cab in Texas!)
Believe it or not I actually found a car so equipped, and it had even more goodies.
Regrets? Maybe not getting 18 way seats.

If I were buying used, the only filter I would need is MT since there are so few made now. The rest would sort themselves out, along with colors, etc.
I have all I listed plus a lot more, including the Powerkit Package. I agree the RAS is very nice to have. I had it on my '15 TT and was glad to see they added it to the .2 4S Targa options list before my order froze. An otherwise great car/buy wouldn't make not getting it a deal breaker for me, but I believe the effects are noticeable even to an amateur.

Oh, regrets. Maybe lane change assist, but with the Targa there are no real blind spots if your mirrors are properly adjusted. My S550 has them in the mirrors and they're "OK", but not great there.
Otherwise zero.

Lane change assist was one of things I discarded as pointless when shopping for a 991, but the car I purchased came with it, and after owning for a few weeks it’s become a must have on my next 911. It’s not very expensive, and it’s saved me more than a few times.
