991.1 GT3 steering software onto 991.1 C2S?
Does anyone have the instructions to perform this programming? I have my PIWIS tester and I'm pretty sure the value is changed under Maintenance of Vehicle Data, but not 100%.
If anyone has a solid answer on how to perform this programming, please post up! Thanks! |
I am very much interested in this as well. I hope you find the answer soon!

I would also be very interested in having this done...if technically possible. I just acquired a 2017 .2 991S coupe a manual transmission, 'Sport Package' & Sport Pasm. And I sold my 'Signal Green' 2015 .1 991 gt3 one month ago. I don't really miss the PDK Plus at all, improved as it was for the .1 991 gt3! But, upon starting to drive the .2 991S, I did feel that it lacked the distinctive steering 'feel' (slightly more weight, etc) of the gt3. Other than that, I am very happy with the switch! If you or anyone finds anything on the topic, please let me know. :bigbye: Saludos, Eduardo Scottsdale |
Even if the software is identical, and the actual steering hardware is identical as well, the geometry of the car (suspension, bearings, etc.) and not to mention the different tires, would probably contribute just as much to steering "feel" as the actual software and hardware would.

But there might be other mechanical differences in the two that could prevent getting the exact same feel. But it might be able to be improved. *

It's getting old! You have never even owned a .1 gt3 so get off your white horse! And I have put 911R stripes & side decals to give the 'Rhodium' some pop...so don't start with me on that either. This is not my first rodeo, much less my first Porsche! So for the sake of civility in our Rennlist forum, let's stop with this mocking 'orthodoxy' which is borrowed from political circles that are un-democratic & authoritarian. :banghead:

Out of curiosity, do you have the PSP
(Power steering plus) option? reported about my recent acquisition on this forum. And it doesn't have Power Steeering Plus. It does have 'Rear Axle Steering' like my old gt3! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4b819d3fc3.png https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1024...ppy-i-did.html :bigbye: Saludos, Eduardo Scottsdale |

Yes, I like to inject some humor into my posts sometimes. Oh well. I read enough and have driven the GT variants enough to have an educated opinion on .1's, .2's, and GT's. Go look at all my threads I have started. Actually I know you have. You can be the King of Rennlist so don't worry about the competition. I like to fly under the radar anyway. You should be more upset with all the ridiculous threads on RL these days. George (Who gives a *uck what hood I'm in today) |
BTW. Please post pics of the new sticker package. I'm sure other would like to see it.

I'll email Porsche and see if they can add a GT3 suspension package to the Carrera models. Of course, that same buyer will add PSP to it and complain about the low clearance

Actually I know you have. .1 991 gt3 in your HFS threads to the point of perhaps even damaging the values of those cars in the US used car market. Now that we have the extended warranty on those engines from PAG, hopefully you will be more careful in the words used re: these vehicles. Loose lips do sink ships!

Perhaps your next **Official** thread might be the bridge too far in the 991 gt3 forum for you! Don't you think you should leave that to the folks that own a gt3 or are ordering a gt3? We will find out soon enough!

Saludos, Eduardo Scottsdale Because I'm not actively looking for a pre-owned 991.1 or have an allocation for a .2 GT3, does that mean I can't make contributions on those subjects? Is there something wrong with me actually enjoying my .1 C2S? I don't need to flip cars yearly to show off to the forum crowd. You write about PTS, deviated stitching, and Exclusive options but when is the last time you ordered a new 911 and used any of those? As far as "friends", I can't even keep up with the ones I have or spend enough time with my family because of work. Not really looking to be invited over to talk about PTS over wine and cigars around the world. Anyway Eduardo, you do make some very good contributions to the forum and I won't dispute that. I've gotten to know you well enough to know the rest of your persona. I'll let it rest. I think I can move on now. Update me with any GT steering software findings. If any small improvements or tweaks can be made to a great car, why not?? |
