Default PCA Badge Holder

I recently bought a classic enameled PCA badge. I have been a member for almost 30 years, and have enjoyed the events and the people.

Anyway, back in the day, people would attach badges to the engine lid grill with through-bolts, or to brackets bolted to a bumper. Neither would work easily with a 991, so I made a bracket to hold the badge "floating" above the engine lid grill, with hidden fasteners.

Here is the badge, about 3 inches diameter, and hardware as delivered:

Here's the blank for the badge holder, drilled for mounting hardware:

And the holder bent into shape:

The holder mounts to the bolts for the engine lid latch (only touches the car on the latch surface):

After painting and mounting the badge (both machine screws and double-stick tape):

And done:

They have both.
This is very neat work. I'm always impressed at the skill level people here demonstrate. I'm not blessed with mechanical abilities like that.

Nice work. Good post. You're about 50-60 years ahead of your time. When I see these badges on 356s, I think it looks cool and nostagic. On the 991 it looks a little too soon.

I'll pass. That adds at least a 1/2 lb.

Thanks, everyone. A bit busy right now to start any manufacturing.

I will commit to publishing a precise plan, for any DIY. Got some travel coming up, so it may take a couple of weeks.

You'll have to wait for the carbon fiber model.
