Default Ultimate Guide for 991 Targa Rattles

Fellow Targa Owners,
I'd like to compile a one-stop list of rattle sources for our beloved cars. For those that have suffered from rattles, and you know who you are(!), we'd all be appreciative if you'd use the following form for future reference.

Rattle Name: (First responders get the joy of naming a rattle.)

Rattle Sound Description: (What does the rattle sound like?)

Rattle Sound Source: (Where in the car are you hearing the sound?)

Rattle Solution: (What solved your problem? We may have multiple solutions which is preferable. Bonus points for any DIY solutions that don't involve dealer assistance since these cars will ultimately age out of warranty.)

My 50th has a terrible rattle. Sounds like static but isnt from the sound system. If I push hard on the dash it goes away for awhile. Its really irritating.

I just know when I go to dealer under warranty it won't happen.
