991.2 protective mesh grills

I just installed the Zunsport grills on my 991.2 GTS. Easy to install and the overall fitment is good. Only thing I don't like is there is a small gap due to the bar separating the top and bottom on the outer intakes (see attached).

Yeah that would bother me too. Anyway to bend the mesh frame a little to have it sit better?

Maybe, but it is pretty stiff mesh and I would be afraid the paint would crack and then start flaking off. To be honest, its not noticeable unless you really look hard. I'm usually quite **** about these thing, but willing to overlook it and save a radiator...

Here's my second home made prototype. This provides at least 1/4 inch clearance to the leading edge of all vanes. As far as I can tell, as the vanes pivot to closed, they get more "recessed".

I decided to go with the Rennline screens for my .2 GTS. I like the look and the fitment better than Zunsports, although either will work fine. Rennline has 2 downsides: the front bumper has to come off to install them and for future cleaning, so if you ever get any debris (particularly bug parts which go through the screen) in the radiator area it will have to come off again to clean. Also they do not make a center screen for cars that are not fitted with the center radiator on the Sport Design bumper. I bought their center screen anyway to see if there is some way I can make it work. The center screen gives the car a more balanced look IMO.
Their sale and free shipping are a good deal right now.

Still working on refining the design, but it mounts from the outside. I need to come up with a neat and unobtrusive way to attach the edge near the center vent (the other end tucks into the plastic intake "scoop").

I just installed the Rennlines on my .2 GTS. Like you, I also ordered the center grill, but I really didn't see any way of making it work. In the end I just covered the outer openings, and left the inner scoops uncovered. This looks the most OEM to me, since the GT3 has uncovered inner scoops. Also this way I can still reach in and clean it out every once in a while.

Not yet, but thanks for the nudge. My retirement has been disrupted by volunteering as a professor at the local college. Too much fun working with students, and some of them take LOTS of time.

I installed my set of 5 Zunsports today and they went in easily. My only small gripe is that the center one should have a screw in the center so that the grill can be evenly pulled into the opening and not bow out slightly in the middle. I emailed Peter at Zunnsport and conveyed my thoughts so maybe future center grills will be updated.
