Default 2017 4s or 2015 TTS.

First time potential 911 convertible buyer. Both cars around $150k, 7500 miles, PDK, and CPO'ed. 4S is very well optioned ( $175k MSRP). Not looking to trade my 2016 Corvette Z06 convertible. Pleasure car approx. 2000 miles per year - no tracking. Thank you for your input.

Both great cars, different personalities. You should drive both and decide which you prefer.

If you've driven both cars, you'd realize that these are not cars that people really cross-shop.

The 991.2 C4S, despite a new FI powerplant, still drives very much like a NA car. The 991.1 TTS, on the other hand, drives exactly how you'd expect a traditional Porsche Turbo to drive -- in your face acceleration that makes you question the laws of physics.

The only thing these two cars have in common from a pure driving standpoint is that both are AWD, and perhaps the fact that the engine is in the wrong place.

In before the newer PCM with Apple Carplay will give you a superior, more engaging driving experience.

Thank you all for your input. I was invited to a Porsche driving event (Dealer) last summer and drove a 991.1 Turbo. Great overall experience. Excellent fit and finish on both interior and exterior. As recommended, my next step is to drive a 2017 C4S. Unfortunately, both of the cars I'm considering are out of state.

I'd go turbo. If I was giving up a good soundtrack then I would want max performance and that's what the turbo offers. That said I probably couldn't use a third the performance of either car...and would be happy with either. Personally I would go used turbo bc I suspect you'd lose less money and overall it is a more exclusive car than a Carrera.

Cheers

The 17 991.2 4s is exclusive with rear steering. Also it has a turbo engine . A carrera agree is common but not the 4S. The 4s is plenty fast. Watch Norman Murray YouTube video on the different Porsches . Money is a consideration. But when someone pulls up in a 17- 4S with PSM you may wish you did .

^ So much misinformation and nonsense in that post, down to the name of the YouTube name, and even using that channel as a reference.

The 4S is a sweet car. I own neither mentioned here so I have no horse in this race...but having driven both I can assure you there is no chance I would wish I bought a 4S over a turbo (assuming both are PDK). The .2 PCM is worlds better but still poorly implemented IMO. I'm sure 4 wheel steering is nice...but not 100hp nice.

If you are going to go Turbo go with the King. The TT cars are amazing cars with amazing performance. I believe it will hold its value longer and you won't have the mod bug with all that power available.
TTS would be my choice hands down and I am a 4S owner (NA though) but have owned several Porsche TT models.

The King would be the GT2 RS.

The TT/TTS is really just like a Duke.

The first name should be Nick on you tube. As far as nonsense and misinformation that is incorrect. Your comment lacks any merit or proof. Just that empty words. Perhaps mention why you believe it's misinformation. I believe Nick Murray knows a bit more than you about porsche . Lol. The 991.1 is different than the 991.2. Would I get a TT 911.2 probably but for a daily driver not sure. But my 911.2 4S has the rear steering, love taking around those curves and the car is fast. But buying a .1 when a .2 is more advance. Granted a 991.2 TT is a beast so spend the extra bucks and go for it otherwise save the difference in money and enjoy a 4S . Many opinions here but at the end it's what you feel .

Couple other similar threads to this one...

Comes down to this.

A: Do you want to have the ideal car to drive to the mountains.
