Default First time having this Auto Start/Stop

991.2 GTS

Kinda freaked me out. My GT4 didnt have this. . Thought my car stalled or something. Just had to tap the gas and back at it. Not sure if Im a fan or not. How much fuel can it possibly save? Ill be hitting the switch I think everytime. Or just leave in Sport mode

Who else likes it? Dislikes it?

I detest it! I have an irrational fear it will not start back up at a stoplight, so I never use it.

I leave my off, luckily in the 991.1 it will stay that way. There is an aftermarket software solution to save the off setting, it's on this forum if you search.

I hate it! Just put in sport as part of your routine and it'll be fine. Only bad thing is when you forget a time or two and BAM it kicks in and you're like f$&k I forgot!!

Works as intended on my .1. It's always bypassed, and stays off, which is nice. On the rare occassion that it has been used, shuts the car off, and then restarted automatically (power requirements), it always scares the sheeeet out of me. I think I've been rear-ended by the feeling of the engine refiring.

This. After a while it just becomes part of the starting routine.

Here is a possible solution.

http://t-design9.com/memory_module.html

I have not installed it. Hopefully somebody has taken the risk and will post their results.

I got it, but didn't install after my SA warned me doing anything to override the electronics.

Hmm, I wonder how it could mess up the electronics.

My solution for this is to just set up all my settings the way I want them in my Individual mode. Start the car, turn the dial from Normal to Individual, everything set up the way I want it, including Auto On/Off being turned off. A great, easy feature of that little Mannetino dial on the 991.2 steering wheel (when you opt for Sport Chrono). Which is obviously all standard on the GTS.

+1 on setting up individual mode on mine...

I HATE THIS FUNCTION - I didn't buy a P-Car to save gas...I bought it to turn gas into noise and speed...

Do I have this option for non SC?

I had a 17 Macan that stayed off when it was off and on my 17 911 it needs to be turned off every time I get in the car... what gives?? I've left A/C on lowest setting as that keeps it from shutting off and never changes until I change it

On mine one of the little buttons next to the shifter inhibits the stop/start. No need to fiddle with anything else...?

I prefer to leave it off all the time. I just press the start/stop button once and never again - it always stays off.
