911 vs TT RS ?

I know numbers don't tell the whole story of a car's driving experience, but just looking at some of the performance data and specs of the new Audi TTRS (400hp, 354 T; 0-60 3.6s, ~3300 lbs) and interior quality, I have to wonder how I would respond if asked why I would choose the 911 over the Audi, which I priced with options at not even half what I paid for my 991.2 C4S. The 911 definitely looks better no doubt, but what other attributes would push someone in the direction of the 911? TTRS vs 911 seems a more difficult argument than Vette vs 911.
Maybe I'm missing something because most reviewers (and Audi) do seem to compare it to the BMW M3/4 instead of the 911.

Have you driven a Audi TTS or TT RS - even the latest one has fairly nasty understeer. As a rule of the thumb the new TTRS is 1 to 2sec slower than a Cayman 718S over a 1:30 lap. Quite a significant difference. The 911 is another step up again. No surprise really given the price difference.
I have no doubt the TTRS will be plenty of fun, however, if you want an Audi sports car there is only to look at - the current R plus

We've owned 5 TTs since 1999. I had a second-gen TT-RS. Then my wife bought her 981. The 981 was slower, but such a better car in every other way that it justified the much higher price.
The motor in the 'RS is a marvel. It's got to be one of the best engines ever. But the rest of the car isn't to the same standard. Even the 3rd-gen is still based on a 'mass' platform that's used for everything from the A3 to the Tiguan: it's a compromise.
Bottomline: don't be an armchair consumer and make your decision from reviews and others opinions. Drive both, preferably for a coupke of hours and then make your decision. Had I heeded this advice I would have saved myself about $35k.

Was invited to join AUDI RS driving event last week, tired the TTRS, R8 V10 Spyder, R8 V10 Plus. The TTRS was fast, but the steering is light and numb, it's not in the same league as any 991, cayman, or boxster, in terms of steering feedback. Very different character as well. Not a bad car for its price tag. The much praised Audi interior does not do it for me, even on the R8 V10 plus, the paddle shifters are some cheap plastic and full leather is an option on a $200k car?
The R8, however, really gets my interest, it's quite a step up from previous model, especially now with the dual clutch transmission. It's almost at good as PDK. The NA V10 noise alone is worth $150k to me.
