Default A perfect GTS - A 991.2 GT3 With Touring Package

A GTS should be a car positioned between Carrera S and GT3, however, the GTS is more of special optioned Carrera than that of slightly detuned or softer GT3.

Now the 991.2 GT3 with this Turing Package, this is just what a Carrera GTS Porsche should have build at first place.

Latest rumor about this upcoming Touring Package (X90)on 991.2 GT3

Deletion of rear wing
Runs with same rear spoiler as a Carrera S
Revised boot lid Grill
Leather seats instead of Alcantara
Textured center of the seats
Painted alloy wheels in Aluminium Satin Gloss
Available for order September
Production starts December

Patiently waiting for word from my SA this weekend/early next week as to whether I'm getting one of these beasts.

Porsche has never really made a true GTS. Maybe this will be it.

I'm confused.

The reason the modern day GTS sat between the Carrera S and the GT3 was better performance while retaining the comfort for everyday use, not the lack of the GT3 4.0 NA engine.

If you don't re-tune the suspension, and you eliminate the back seats, isn't it just as impractical for daily use as the GT3 is considered for some?

An offering for those who didn't get a 911R on the other hand, I can understand.

Rumors has it that the suspension of GT3 with the Touring Package, similar to 911R, are slightly softer than the regular GT car's.

Than the ride should be between that of the Sport PASM and that of GT3's.

Regarding to no rear seat, rumor has it that there's might be a rear seat option.

Not everyone subscribes to that definition, nor feels like the GTS has offered enough of a performance advantage.

Seriously though, this car is intended to be a GT3, sans a few of the track styling queues, not a GTS. What it will or won't have have is pure speculation at the moment. If it is reality, personally, I don't expect it to have rear seats or a softened suspension, as that would almost be a different model, rather than an option on the GT3. But who knows. We're all guessing at the moment. Big game of telephone going on, with no publicly confirmed source.

Don't worry. If you're not already on the list for one, it's gonna be difficult to impossible to get one anyway, unless you're wiling to pay a big ADM over an already high price.

Oh good, I don't even want to think about looking for an allocation but easy accessibility would have been problematic for me!

I talked with my SA today and he thinks we've got it wrong. He denies her there are plans to build a softened GT3 Touring. He didn't deny they may have options for a smaller wing, more front seating surface options, etc, but he did deny that this is a "GTS-ified" version of the GT3 with softer suspension, sound deadening, comforts like keyless entry/ignition, rear seats, etc.

Of course, I have an order demand in for a GTS, so he is speaking with bias, but his comments do cast some doubt.

I'd be all over this, but I suspect limited availability and crazy mark ups, but it may bring 911R into a more reasonable price range.

I can't imagine they'd call this a GTS though. My money would be on this still being a GT3 with an optional seat and wing delete.
