Default Mini PSA: Carbon Fiber Door Sills

If you drop something on them and they crack/break ...... it's 1K to have one replaced.

If anyone has a nice passenger side carbon fiber lighted door sill that says "Carrera 4S" I might be interested.

You provide a compelling reason not to order those door sills

Carbon fiber is not a good material for anything that's going to take sideways pressure. It's light, it's tremendously strong under tension, but it doesn't handle lateral stress well.

Sorry to hear that you cracked yours. What exactly did you drop on yours? Was it something heavy or just like your cell phone (and the sills are super thin and fragile)?

Well I was at the marina and just bought a new anchor...... had it padded with microfiber rags sitting on the floor but when I opened the door it flopped nailing the door seal. It was all my fault which is the killer. The frunk was loaded with a box with the 225' chain/rope rode.

I'm just going to tidy up the crack a little and leave it.......place it on my 100K mile refresh list.

You need a paradigm shift! This is more about how a tiny $1,000 piece of carbon fiber gave up its life to protect you from a few thousand dollars of repair to your interior door sill.

Like Jimmy says, changes in latitude are changes in attitudes.
