Carmine Red Paint, Guards Red Deviated Stitching
Anyone have this? Building out a 2018 C2S with Carmine Red exterior and black leather interior. The only red deviated thread available on the configurator is Guards Red. Wondered if this will look odd or if it’s close enough and you wouldn’t tell the difference Thoughts and opinions on other color thread on black leather with Carmine Red paint welcome too. Thanks

Why not get a GTS with the red interior package?

Thanks! I've about concluded I won't go with deviated stitching for that reason, and perhaps later on do a seat belt retrofit with red webbing from Maxspeed. They have 2 reds, one that appears to be Guards Red or close to it, and a darker one, hopefully similar to Carmine. I'm going to send off for samples and see if the darker one is any sort of a match for Carmine. If there's no match I'll just stick with an all black interior. Can't go wrong with that.

Too far down the road with my dealer with a C2S build and I'm not too keen on black wheels. Dealer has been jumping through hoops to find an early October C2S build. Also, I know you can get other wheels through Porsche exclusive, but according to my SA that will add significant time to get to the production phase and I don't want to wait that long.

Why not black calipers and the paint color you want? For interior, why not chalk contrast stitching? Provides contrast and goes with everything. Not everything needs to be matchy matchy to look good.

Hell, if you want to get wild with it, contrast the red with yellow caliper PCCB and yellow contrast stitching. That pops and has a very exotic feel to it.
Your concern is valid though. Red is so hard to match perfectly and having mismatched shades of red is definitely distracting, and a common problem with fabrics/paints that even when they’re the “same” they can still be a bit off. Just forget all that and find some other contrast color, either a neutral tone or a color compliment.

If they were really smart, Porsche would have made Carmine calipers for the GTS since that's the designated exterior/interior color they went with for the website and press vehicles. Instead of people "downgrading" to free GR to match, they'd be paying for black calipers or PCCBs. I love Carmine, but decided to switch from Aventurine to Guards for a number of reasons (mostly nostalgia), and the caliper match was certainly one of them.
